Full story: Orlando Sentinel

It wasn't that complete sustained effort that Coach Stan Van Gundy has been waiting to see, but Orlando found just enough of its early season mettle to keep winning ball games with a dramatic 96-94 win over ...

Jim from earlier today:
"The Magic will get blown out tonight in Philly folks. The crowd will be lathered up in a frenzy in anticipation of the upcoming holiday. The Sixers will carve up the Magic like a Thanksgiving turkey. Philly by 12. Once again, you heard it here first folks. NEXT! "

I wonder what his excuse will be this time.....

Hedo almost blew the game with 14 seconds left running over Iguodala. Then he then drew the defender towards him and made a nice pass to Lewis.

HUGE Shot by Rashard!

This doessn't count as a blown prediction on my part because if Rashard Lewis misses that last 3 pointer then the Magic lose this game.

I know! What was that? Looked like a scene from Remember the Titans.

Tony Battie won this game tonight folks. What a game he had. Pietrus had too many turnovers tonight as did Dwight. Philly had 27 pts off of those turnovers. But even with all of this the Magic deserve a lot of credit for hanging in there and getting it done.

Who was the dude for the Sixers who launched that half court bomb at the end of the game ? I realize they had no timeouts left, but I think there was still about 3 or 4 seconds left when he let that shot fly. He could have got a little closer or fired a pass up court. Panic probably set in I guess.

Magic game on TNT tomorrow night. Do you guys think the TNT crew will give them a little more respect this time ? Or will it be the typical Pistons, Celtics, Cavs talk ?

Valid point. If Rashard would have missed that game winning shot, then the Magic would have actually lost by 12.

My 20 year-old son was home from college for Thanksgiving, and we watched the game at a sports bar. Nobody has yet mentioned the officiating, we thought the Magic took the brunt of the bad calls. It seemed to us we often were pushed or grabbed with no call, I particularly recall Hedo going to the hoop strong and getting smacked on the head and falling out of bounds on his lay-up attempt, no call. Maybe these no-calls were not blatant, but it clearly appeared the Magic had to play really well to beat the 76's and the refs tonight.

Exactly Mike. But he did so you don't have to. Me winning isn't. You do.

Somebody take Jim's keys away from him immediately. Who is his designated driver?

Dude, you are such a douche....
Make your predictions, but stand by them damn it. Have some integrity. You were wrong- you are often wrong, deal with it.

Ok everyone needs to calm down here. The Magic got lucky tonight folks. They had too many turnovers and missed free throws. This should have been an easy win. And by the way, my winning percentage is .748 so far this year with my predictions. Not bad at all thank you. Now everyone calm down and enjoy their turkeys tomorrow.
