I can't stand Thabeet. He isn't a great player. Sure he can block a ball but he can't hold on to it. He gives up turn overs. I hope he leaves this year so I don't have to see his face and his cocky attitude anymore. He won't survive the NBA. He has only played this game for 3 years and thinks he is the best player out there. Guess what Thabeet. You have a lot to learn. Not just the game but professionalism too.

I can agree with most of that. I try to look at things psychologically sometimes, I wonder if he is that cocky because he knows he isnt physical enough, so if he says it with his mouth it all balances out. Which isnt true....

Agreed...he makes me miss Okafor that much more. I just wish Thabeet would calm down. He seems super-cocky and appears to always be talking trash. That aside, I am beginning to really like this Uconn team. They have a toughness and seem to be understanding what a killer instinct is.

You want these guys to play as hard as they can for forty minutes, dive to the floor after loose balls, jump into the stands to save a ball from going out of bounds, execute the full court press for forty minutes and run the fast break whenever possible. If for one second they don't hustle you people will be the first to point that out. But dam them to hell for showing emotion after a good play. If you get that upset over a guy pumping his chest, stop watching.

You know..beginning of the season I would agree with you but he`s starting to change my mind. I watch the games closely and he truly is a good shot blocker and rebounder.Defensively, you have to give him credit. So what..He smiles a lot and looks like he is having fun..i don`t see poor sportsmanship and cockiness...Yes, he still has to develop offensively but despite that he is still averaging almost 14 points a game and he truly does have good form on his foul shots and is somewhat athletic for his size. I`m beginning to think that in 3 to 4 years he wil be a solid double, double guy in the NBA and actually be a presence.Once he gets stronger physically and better hands he should truly blossom..I say give him credit, he is making some good progress..Don`t be a hater

Just sayin':
Thabeet's 15-footer the other night showed better form than Okafor does to this day, not to mention foul shots. I know, who cares, but the kid is a freak of an athlete.

And seriously now, is it really an issue if the guy's an arrogant ass and smiles after every foul? It's not. Do you think Georgetown fans killed Alonzo Mourning every time CBS showed him whispering sweet (anti semitic) nothings in Nadav Henefeld's ear? Didn't think so.

If he produces, I can care less if his toothy grin catches every light in the building.

Just sayin'...

I agree.

Thabeet just looks like he's having fun out there. What's wrong with that?

Remember he's only been playing the game for 4 - 4 1/2 years. I'm sure he's thrilled with his improvement.

As far as trash talking, they all do it and I don't think his is excessive.

Whether he is a success or not in the NBA down the road means little to me. I love the energy and hustle of college ball and rarely watch an NBA game.

Honestly, if you don't think Thabeet is a great player or NBA ready then you haven't been paying attention.

And what's wrong with the guys showing emotion? I love Thabeet smiling after every bad call and flashing the number 1 sign. I love Jeff beating his chest and taunting the Louisville fans. I love Kemba clapping and jawing after every big layup. I don't want to watch robots.

i love the emotion as well. of course, there's a fine line between playing with spirit and enthusiasm and poor sportsmanship, but i dont think our guys have crossed it. they're playing well and they know it.

Yes I agree. If he manages to correct this problem he will be a much better player. He's a very good player now but he needs to get some hands. U-C-O-N-N Uconn, Uconn, Uconn!!!!
