Detroit wins consistently hee with veteran all star players who have won consistently together for several seasons. They make the big plays at the end of games. For the Pacers to win without Tinsley and O'Neal, both Dunleavy and Granger have to be on and they need lots of help help from the bench. Detroit's bench came out much better in this game. Daniels, Williams, Harrison haven't done much lately and Diogu doesn't even get in.

Like Dale Earnhardt said; "It doesn't matter if they boo you or cheer you, you're in trouble when they don't do either".

I'm comment #3, really, does anyone care? Remember old school? ABA at MSA? Reggie? What are we supposed to care about now? It's not JUST about winning (or losing), it's about class and effort.

Anybody got a guess on the actual attendance? The box score lists 12,572 and judging by what I have seen on TV lately, cut that number in half.

Before this article attracts the usual flood of negative Pacer comments, let me just say that I was at this game and it was a blast. The guys all played tough, esp. the starting 5 of Diener, Dunleavy, Rush (I believe he started, either him or Murphy), Foster, and Granger. Granger had an off night, but the other guys played toe-to-toe with Detroit until the very end when it seemed like veteran experience and just an overall better team wore them down. It was 106-104 with less than a minute to play, and the fans who were there were on their feet cheering the team's effort. Diener seemed like he was on fire all game, Dunleavy had a huge night, Foster was cleaning up the boards...there were some really great highlights, defensive and offensive. I really think that had Tinsley and O'Neal played, the Pacers could and would have won this game.

When they play like this, they are a fun team to watch, and Conseco could be a great venue again if people would give them a chance. Like SevenT7 said, it's about effort, and the Pacers gave that in spades tonight.

the starting 5 snaders was Diener, Dunleavy, Murphy, Foster, and Granger. i've got season tickets and that was one of the better efforts i've seen put out all season. its its anyone other that the pistons c's suns or mavs we win that game. i really like this lineup. diener really pushes the tempo and gets the O going. im a huge jamaal fan but maybe we should stick with this and see what happens. or maybe it was the fact that me and my buddy changed the seats we sit in.
