Way to go Steph!!! You are a real stand up dude for that one!!

Never mind the racist haters. Keep on talking brother. You are absolutely right. Mike Vick was wrong for what he did. VERY wrong, but his crimes/mistakes need to be put in it's proper context. People are cruel to animals ALL of the time. We eat them, maim, and kill them for sport. It does not excuse Vick for his actions but what it does is place him in the category of most Americans that value entertainment, convenience, and style over morality. It makes him more American that is what it does. This is the most hypocritical nation and White America are THE MOST hypocritical beings that this world has ever witnessed. I mean YOUR popularly elected president has sent over 3,000 Americans to an early grave based on lies and greed. Yet and still you protest Vick and ask for his head. All of that, then you jump into your SUV with the Bush/Cheney04 bumper sticker. Sick and sorry. that is what most of you are.
God bless Mike Vick, My main man Steph, and lets go Knicks!!!!!!!

Did you peep how the media and sports broadcasters were trying to turn his words around. I saw the interview and he CLEARLY said Vick was wrong - the media and poster's on this board are skipping over that part of his statement.
Starbury also said from what he HEARD - not what he knew to be true - dogfighting is a sport and likened it to hunting. He clearly did NOT say it was a sport.
He also said Mike is being unfairly judged in the media and he was RIGHT. As a matter of fact, ANYONE who sides with Vick has been attacked. Steph, Jaime Foxx, the NAACP (although it was the Atlanta chapter that supported him.) They all said dogfighting was WRONG but expressed support and prayers for Vick. Yet, they were still criticized.

It's all good. Just keep being a voice of reason. It's good to see that everyone is not swayed by CNN, FOX and MSNBC.

<quoted text>If I remember my history the clan thought hangin black men from trees was sport. I quess that makes that ok too. You are really a moron!!!! Just throw your computer in the garbage.
Funny you would mention the Klans rampant lynching of Black men. If Black folks could have enjoyed the same kind of love and support that dogs are getting now there would have been a hundreds even thousands less lynchings of innocent Black men. That to me is the most telling part of this whole Vick saga. And you guy's are not racist?? What a joke.

Who cares if dog fighting or deer hunting is a sport! The main reason he is getting sentenced is because he tortured several animals in an inhumane manner. If someone was killing deer in the manner Vick was killing his dogs, they should go to prison too.
Agree

Now before anyone gets all freaked out
the original purpose of dogfighting was to produce dogs who would protect your family and livestock from wild animals
the "Bull" in Pit Bull is because they are Bulldogs

Matching dogs was done for breeding selection
You would only want to breed winning Pit Dogs to winning Pit Dogs
Dog Fighting isn't what makes dog's human aggressive
Abusing dogs makes them aggressive
"The three chief fighting dogs, who do not follow the trail, are the most affectionate of all, and, moreover, they climb trees!"

I do not condone dog fighting for gambling purposes, I am theoretically unopposed to dog fighting the way it was 100 years ago
What Mike Vick did to losing dogs is barbaric
