Ok, so it's not my money. But just to prove a point, if I was the Simons "I'd say to heck with the salary cap tell Tinsley he's fired! Sue us for your pay." Do you think a jury in Indiana would ever award him his pay in a law suit??? I doubt it! Tell the NBA players union to stuff it. No play, no pay! If you loose the law suits you might even be able to claim it wasn't a salary being paid and avoid the salary cap penalty.

You can not just "fire" or "get rid of" Tinsley! He has a contract for another 5 years! He will have to be traded --- that means some other team has to want him. How many other teams want all his baggage? Just quit griping and let Larry and Donnie see what they can do in the off season. In the meantime, we have to put up with him.

Gotta agree with Bill H. it's time for the legal system and the player's union to get involved. Sports teams have become a very important part of a city's overall public relations push. We as taxpayers can't be held hostage by immature and harmful behavior that is protected by ironclad contracts. If we are going to subsidize these teams with our tax dollars and bond issues, where's our protection?

Not bad comments, Bill and Flav.

I just want to posit a thought here that has plagued me since I read a blog from another city. In this blog, or on it if that's the proper way to say it, the blogger mentioned being out at a bar some members of the Pacers went into after a game in their city. To keep this part of my story short here, the blogger mentioned that the last one out of the bar that eve was Tinsely, and he took a fifth with him.

The reason I mention this is because it was a blogger from another city, and Tinsely closed the bar. Not only did he close it, but he took a fifth with him. Now, you correlate that (which I should add is a blog, not a police statement, so it can't be taken as the whole truth) with two instances happening in bars here in Indy and a pattern begins to emerge.

What I'm speculating here is that Tinsley is an alchoholic. I just have a feeling that the part of the whole story in this article that we're not privy to is he wasn't just late, he was hung over. If this speculation is true, I feel bad for the guy.

If this is the case, I'd imagine that the Pacers have more options for them than just suspension. I'm sure there is a clause in contracts that deal with addiction, and if Tinsley refuses treatment, it may affect how the Pacers can deal with him and his contract.

This is only speculation, but we're not getting the whole story about why he was suspended this time. I'm guessing the team is trying to deal with it internally and privately so as to not affect his future with this team, or another should it come to that. We know why Jackson was suspended for his game, why not let us know why Tins was?

If it's true, it's sad and I hope he gets the help he needs, but I don't feel that as a fan I need to be subjected to the drama or the inadequate play at point this player gives us.

I hope I'm wrong.

I watch all the games here in Jacksonville Beach FL on Directv and can't understand with the personal the Pacers have, why can't they win. I do think Tinsley should be gone, he's to up and down. After the last big trade, I thought we were on our way to the playoffs and maybe deep into the playoffs. But it's not happening. What's the problem now. Could we have a coaching problem? Just maybe that's where the lack of emotion comes from. The Pacer braintrust better do something now. The Indy fans are going to quit paying so much for so little. We got the Gators down here and I would pit them against the Pacers time and time again and I think the Gators would win 75% of the games.
