I was in Europe recently and they think all americans carry guns, I told them they were wrong. Maybe they are more right that I thought! WHY DO ALL THESE GUYS NEED GUNS???

It's unfortunate that--at a time when death by violence is soaring in Indianapolis and citizens are threatened by drive-by shooters--the role models for innercity youth and those struggling to emerge from a culture of drugs, poverty and crime themselves look like gun weilding gang bangers whose character is mired in flashy materialism and titty bar conquests.

Stephen Jackson brings new meaning to the term "shooting guard". Time for a trade!

Sounds to me that this is a story of 6 violent thugs getting into a fight. One of them had pot, another opened fire, the driver had no license to drive and is a convicted criminal. The guy who hit jackson appearently was leaving his handicapped cousin there to be beaten by the other 4 thugs (3 pacers and 1 pot-smoking "friend").

I DO NOT THINK THAT JACKSON DID ANY THING WRONG. HE CAN GO WHERE EVER HE WANTS TO GO IT ISN'T ANY OF OUR BUSINESS. AND EVERY ONE KEEP'S TALKING ABOUT HIM KICKING A HANDICAPPED MAN, HE'S NOT TOO HANDICAPPED IF HE ROB'S PEOPLE OR ESCAPES FROM JAIL OR GET LOCKED UP ON DRUG CHARGES. SO I DO NOT FEEL SORRY FOR HIM. AND JACKSON CAN SHOOT IN THE AIR IF HE WANT'S TO HE WAS TRYING TO STOP THE FIGHT. AND IF YOU DUMBIES THINK ABOUT IT IF SOME ONE RAN YOU OVER WITH A CAR YOU WOULD HAVE DONE THE SAME THING OR WORSE. IT IS NOT OUR BUSINESS WHAT HE DOES IN HIS PERSONAL LIFE AND HOW LATE HE DOES IT,PERIOD!!!!!!! SO GET OFF IT AND IF THEY GET RID OF ALL THE "BLACK" PLAYERS THERE WOULD NOT BE A TEAM. AND ALSO "REGGIE MILLER" IS A SELL OUT!!!!!!! NOT OUR BUSINESS

He wasn't arrested because of his choice of how late he was out or where he was. He was arrested because he BROKE THE LAW!!
#1 -- when on probation you can't carry a weapon
#2 -- he fired the gun BEFORE the guy tried to hit him with the car
#3 -- it is stupid, dangerous and ILLEGAL to shoot bullets into the air -- they come down somewhere and they can kill people when they do.

To those who make generalized statements like "The NBA is full of thugs." Please stop confusing the league with a prison. I am an Orlando Magic fan. You will not find a better group of citizens working anywhere else in American society. That goes as well for the current NBA World Champions, the Miami Heat.

As in any league, you are going to have some individuals who cannot handle celebrity. That has nothing to do with the league. It has everything to do with personal choice. The vast majority of the Leagues players are involved in positive community programs, and fully realize that they are role models.

To make such generalizations is just wrong. If the NBA has an image problem, it is due to the few, not the many. Please reccognize.

The whole country is having similar troubles with crime. Its not just Indiana. It still doesn't give you the right to break the law. I am a woman too, and I will NEVER carry a gun. I truly don't see the point. Instead, I pay attention to where I go and when so that I'm not putting myself in stupid situations.

Stephen Jackson and the Jamaal Tinsley have to be held accountable the same as any other citizen of the city.
Preferrential treatment will damage the public trust and will only lead to more outrage over their bad behavior. Celebrities or not, they were involved in an altercation that would not have happened if they had been "upstanding" citizens and stayed out of places like that at that early of the morning.
Stephen Jackson has tainted the image of the Pacers Organization, almost worse than Ron Artest did. The Pacers were a "class act" in the ABA, and NBA, I would prefer to see them lose every game with hard working, appreciative team players, rather than having to deal with this issue and whatever he decides to do next to embarrass our City and our Professional Sports Teams. I'm sure there are clauses in his contract for ethical conduct that should be exercised to get another player in the position to help the team. He's really not that good on the court anyway.
I believe that when the smoke clears, and the lawyers exhaust all of their options, that Larry and Donnie will make this problem disappear.
Please restore the dignity, reestablish the organization's pride, and we'll come to see a "team" play. We Hoosiers, Love and Know the Game of Basketball. We have no respect for the "thug" attitude or lifestyle that is being exhibited by these individuals.
