The Pacers management is making a mistake by allowing Stephen jackson to become a core part of the team at this point. It sends the wrong message as to the value system other players have to adhere to in order to get playing time and become champions, and it makes the words of Mr. Bird and Mr. Walsh about cleaning up the citizenry of the Pacers look empty.
In fact, it makes Mr. Bird and Mr. Walsh look like their value system is wrong, especially on the tail end of compromising standards for Ron Artest as long as they did...
Stephen Jackson needs to be excused from the team...

I am a long time Pacer fan (my dad use to take me to see them in the ABA days) but I have found it very difficult to support them the past two years. There are individuals on the team that I do like and do support but overall this has not been a likeable team.
When I read what Larry Bird said he was going to do to right this organization, I knew he would because Larry's word is good. I am hoping he will get rid of players like Stephen Jackson, who in my opinion have no business wearing an Indiana Pacers' uniform.
I will not support or watch a team who has players like him on their roster and I don't care how good he is as a player. A bad egg is a bad egg. And that can go for the other players with him at a strip joint at 3 a.m.
So much for this new image. Talk is cheap, let's please see some actions.

Man, I just want them to play at their best at every game. I really don't care what a single player does out side the game

Stephen Jackson's situation a "distraction." Coach Carlisle says he really hopes he plays. WHAT????!!!!!
what the guy did was a criminal felony. And he was on parole, was he not? and he is running around, not contained behind bars??? and a parolee has possession of a deadly weapon??? if this was regular joe citizen, do i need to remind anyone where WE would be???
give me a break!! This person has committed a felony, he is a danger to society - far more than a distraction!!!
he needs to be convicted and incarcerated. perhaps he would then understand how to behave!! and we hold NBA players up as role models. the pacer organization should dismiss him immediately and would then be role models for upholding the rules of our land. i would SOOO respect them and the court system if that is what happens. he should never be on an NBA court ever again!!

I am confused..why is it anybodys business what a person does outside of the job? My daughter plays aau basketball is 5'7 in the 4th grade and tell her every chance I get when you go to the WNBA you are not here to impress anyone!!! you are here to play ball. and what my daughter does outside is her business. She will not be a role model. I let her know let them raise their own kids!
