Is S. Jackson that big of a Star in Indy that he needs a personel bodyguard. The reason he needs one is because he visit's places that are not so safe. If he goes to the mall does he need one? NO KIDDING. It's Indianapolis..not 'Night of the Living Dead'. He's not going to have to defend his children from groves of Zombies. I sat a table over from Jermaine O'neal at a restaraunt a few months ago...and surprise, surprise..he was with family and NONE of them were packing heat. And even more shockingly..nobody attacked them! No Zombies, no rabid dogs, no psychotic fans...NOBODY!

I fully believe in gun rights..don't get me wrong. I just think Jackson (& others) makes poor decisions. Very poor. If he's going to be hanging out in strip clubs at 3am, with the scum of humanity in his prescence, he may want to consider hiring some body guards. He may also want to consider just renting a suite and having a private party. But just going out with guns & weed at 4am to somewhere that LOSERS hang out is just friggin' stupid.

And we think Tinsley and Jackson are going to lead our basketball team anywhere with that kind of CRAP decision making? I don't think so. And I think anyone who DOES think so has probably been smoking out of Tinsley's secret stash.

I am a forgiving person and I could forgive these guys...I just don't think they will give me the opportunity. I want Tinsley to play hard, get in great shape, and display a postive attitude. I want Jackson to stop arguing with the refs, stop jacking up lousy shots, stop drawing negative attention to the Pacer franchise, and START setting a better example for our young guys like Granger, Williams, Harrison, etc.

Until that happens...my heart's not in in it anymore.

I didn't have too much trouble with his actions in Detroit, but JAckson doesn't get it. I wonder if his neighbor, Tony Dungy packs heat for protection in Carmel.

Look people when these guys sign their contracts it said nothing about being a role model. Thats our jobs as parents, we are the role model for our kids not a pro basketball player. Look the wanna be all white can't do wrong stuck up on his self Reggie Miller is gone and when he was here he couldn't get us a championship. Jackson is a grown man he can go he strip club all day and night and it's none of our business. Leave the man alone and just let him play ball.

Tim, The same clubs and functions that Reggie, Vern, Dale, & Antonio attended are the exact spots that S. Jackson and the current Pacers support. The violent crimes and homocide rates have increased 300% Indpls. Thus creating more issues for entertainers and athletes. Two years ago a Colts player had his truck stolen from the Mall and when he followed his vehicle with another player. The thief started shooting at them. I guess they shouldn't have shopped at a Simon Mall! A body guard responsibility is to keep his clients from being involved from any altercations. If you like a players performance that's fine, but going to a strip club with 3 teamates isn't bad. When I was in Atlanta, Shaq and a few Heat players was hanging in the strip club. Miami won the Championship and he's the highest paid player in the league.

There has been 122 homicides in Indy this year, everyone needs protection. The only mistake Jackson made was being stupid. He shouldn't be hangin out at places like that, not because it's a strip club, but because of the whole environment within and the location of that club. Being a rich celebrity he should be hanging out with like minded people and in more upscale places and he wouldn't have had to deal with that altercation. Everybody makes bad decisions but don't call the man a thug and everything else. Indianapolis is way too conservative sometimes and this is a perfect example.
I agree with you, but unfortunately there aren't many places in Indpls that are upscale for young adults. A majority of clubs have people who have no respect for themselves or others; which creates a very violent and hostile environment.

Now everyone has judged S. Jackson for his mistakes, let's take a look at the team president Larry Bird! Read the following from SI.
Corrie Bird is a dead ringer for her famous father, Larry Bird. Her bedroom, according to Sports Illustrated, was for years a shrine to him (children offer worship even to the most undeserving parents). Bird, who was once married to Corrie's mother -- though not at the time she was conceived -- has provided financial support for Corrie but has actually seen his daughter only once or twice. Her eager letters, report cards and school pictures -- all sent certified mail -- fell into a black hole of silence. Corrie, now 20, keeps hoping things will change. "I've never gotten so mad that I haven't wanted to see him," she confesses.

You want to know what makes him a thug? No, it is not the braids, tatoos or the fact that he young and black... it is the fact that he was in a gang - and continued to keep a red bandana in his locker asa reminder. That is what makes him a thug.

Money and leaving the hood have not helped this man grow up and appreciate the life he has. He still wants to be accepted by members of gang life - that is why he is a thug.

And when you make the comment that he does not have to please most of us rednecks who probably own guns.. um, no - I have never touched a gun and never have needed to - but maybe you weren't thinking of people like me with that statement, because I don't classify myself a redneck.

Never will I buy another ticket as long as Pacers management relies on thugs like Jackson and Tinsley. They should be embarrassed. As a life long Pacers fan, I hope they finish in last place this year. Maybe that will send a message to the Pacers that this community wants a major change NOW. The ridicule that Indy is getting from all around the country is a shame.

Until the Pacers clean up there act and can be a respected team by replacing the negative outcasts of the team.......... I will not support them and think they are a disgrace to Indianapolis.
