Pacers just don't get it about Indiana basketball

Full story: The Indianapolis Star

Isn't it ironic that Pacers coach Rick Carlisle is quoted in USA Today as saying about Stephen Jackson, "He's a smart guy.

Everywhere you go you continue to hear about the pacers, what about our President sending our troops to Iraq withour having an exit plan. Those young people he sent to fight have never even been out of the country, never had a fight, nor a gun in their hands, and all you people(you know who you are)can talk about is the pacers. A mind is a terrible thing to waste.

Well said, Rob - central Indiana sports fans will never support these guys, regardless of how many games they win. Personally, I've been a fan since about 1976. You remember what the teams were like pre-Reggie? I still supported those guys every year, and enjoyed the long climb up from the bottom. As for the current group? Don't care, won't watch, certainly won't spend my money on tickets. Seems like Donny did a good job before he brought in Mr. Bird - maybe he needs to rethink that.

Betty - do you just go around to every web site you can find to spread your propaganda? The subject here is sports, not politics.
There's some astronomy clubs, day care centers, hospitals and department stores that all have feedback forums that say nothing about Iraq - If you like, I'll forward you links so you can spread your off-topic ranting to as broad a population as possible. Or, I suggest you start writing to the op-ed forums.

Jackson being at a strip joint after hours during training should be something for the team to deal with. As far as the rest of it, what ever happened to innocent until found guilty in a court of law? Heck, the guy has already been lynched! That is just plain wrong.

FINALLY! Rob, you nailed it! Not only is he not a quick learner, but he can hardly form sentences. He's a thug with a jump shot. Why doesn't someone at the Pacers teach these guys manners, real life skills, like money management, and a little media training? Really...are these guys the best we can do? I'd rather watch loosers than jailbirds.
