Now, I will not discount that this cat is a fool, but this sounds like he's not just acting like a knucklehead here. I've actually been involved in something like this except the dude that hit me took a bullet in the leg. When your life is threatened, you have to do what's necessary to defend yourself, even if it doesn't seem totally logical. I don't know if Jackson initiated all of this, but if he didn't, then I'm not mad at him for reacting this way.

The man was attacked after he and several other players chose to leave a hostile environment. He had a permit to carry his firearm. He had every right to discharge that weapon after he was thrown on the hood of a car and ran over.

"Officers could not determine the car's driver or to whom the marijuana belonged, so no arrests were made."
Gee, have these cops ever heard of asking for a registration to see who the car belonged to? That maybe, just maybe, one of the morons involved owns the car. Seems like the cops probably wanted an autograph instead, oh, what's that? If it was you or I, there would be 10 squad cars, 20 cops and they would make sure you were busted for having a little pot - these guys skate. What a load.

Let's look back in time ...

July 1st, Antoine Walker and Sixers forward Nazr Mohammed were sitting in front of a Chicago restaurant that had yet to open when three men with guns surrounded them and robbed them of cash and a $55,000 watch Walker was wearing. No suspects have ever been arrested.

On Sept. 25, Pierce was stabbed multiple times at a Boston nightclub after getting in an altercation with the brother of a woman with whom he was speaking. He was hit in the head with a bottle and stabbed multiple times in the neck, chest and back. He underwent lung surgery to repair the damage. An inch or so in another direction and he would have died.

Do you understand why now?
It's also common for business executives to carry guns or have a bodyguard to protect them from the next degenerate to try to take from them. Are the execs thugs as well?

That being said, I still think that Stephen Jackson is a thug.

These are adults that have the right to be out anytime and anywhere they want to be. Who are you to question that right? They did say all of these young men had permits to be armed.

As the old saying goes: You can take the boy out of the ghetto but you can't take the ghetto out of the boy!
And I guess that gunfire is always a good way to settle a dispute....I'll remember that the next time I'm at the AAA watching the Heat.....oh, I forgot....I hate the NBA....sorry.

These NBA thugs are so imature, don't they understand that what goes up must come down. Why are they carrying guns in the first place? It shouldn't matter if you have a permit or not, if your going to a club you know somebody usually gets drunk and a fight breaks out, These thugs belong in the prison league.
