Catamounts men stay winless in SoCon

Can you send someone to actually cover the game, rather than just have the AP story?? How about a little effort, Asheville Citizen?

I can't blame them for not sending someone to the game. Why spend the money and time to go watch a sure loss. Lots of people have been quick to be critical of the football program at WCU (and rightly so), however, the men's basketball program is in the same shape. Time for a new approach, time for Hunter to go.

Time for Hunter to go? No way Jose. The basketball program is in the third year of a rebuilding process that is going to take a long time. Hunter knows what he is doing and he will get it done eventually, we just need to give him some more time.
I don't think he was planning on Nick Aldridge departing the team before the season began. He has done a good job coaching those guys without Aldridge. Despite them all being losses, he has done a good job and I say that in about 2-3 more years the Catamount basketball program will be top notch. How can you expect us to win when the majority of our team is freshman and sophomores?
Wait until they are juniors and seniors, and with some incoming talent, the Catamount basketball program will be one of the best in the SoCon. We just need to give Hunter some time.
I bet in three years if our football program has had it's third straight 4 win season, you will be demanding Wagner to go. Give these guys time to build their program. Hunter has an impressive resume and obviously knows how to win and I project that he will eventually!

That is all we have been hearing since Hunter got here! "They are freshmen and sophmores". Right now, no matter what year they are in, the talent is not there, face it. No big men willing to bang inside (Aldridge was overrated, and Jake Robinson is the only outside threat (and we all know what a defensive liability he is). Hunter's ability to recruit must be questioned, how many players outside the state of Ohio has he recruited?
We will have to agree to disagree on this one. I truly believe the basketball program at WCU is on the bottom of the conference and will be there for many, many years to come. To his credit, I imagine it is hard to recruit serious talent to come play in front of 7,000 empty seats every game.

yeah there's a culture of apathy among the students up there. it's really a shame that its that way. sports could do so much for the university
