Would you really want players on the team who aren't trying to win? The team isn't going to be "saved" by getting a high draft pick. These guys aren't giving up on this season, so we might as well root for them. I tuned into last nights game and watched a kid who is supposed to be to small(Travis) getting 8 rebounds and Shawne Williams taking charges down low. We love the underdog in Indiana and we have one to root for. So why not?

Agree completely...there are some really good guys on this team, both on the court and off (Granger, Dunleavy,Diener, and Foster) just to name a few.

If Diener can become a consistent shooter (which he should be able to be) he will be an excellent point guard. We know he doesn't turn the ball over, and he gets the team into the offensive flow quickly.

Granger and Dunleavy are a good 2-3 tandem, and Foster can be the "enforcer". Add a decent Big Man, and some athleticism and scoring off the bench, and this is a decent team.

It just may be the kool aid I am drinking, but I see this team looking good next year.

Oh yeah! I agree completely too. The Pacers should easily make the NBA finals next year. All the pieces are now in place.

Good Win. It will be interesting to see how the seventh and eight spots come out in the Eastern Conference; How great would be if we beat the Celtics in the playoffs.

I am amazed at the lack of comments on talkback in regard to the Pacers.I.U. and Purdue command hundreds of comments!I understand the Pacers are down right now but you would be down too if your family did not support you! It's a two way street.Management should try some ticket promo's to get more people in the stands.Show the nation and the NBA Indiana truly is the hotbed of basketball and not the "fair weather fan!"

Isn't it amazing how wrecked the basketball scene is in Indiana, the cradle of competitive hoops?

Pacers blow, Purdue can't even beat IU, Butler is ranked, IU is all effed up and I am three quarter million ahead walking out the door to a lucrative sporting equipment sales territory.

i understand that a high draft pick may not "save" this team, but neither will just making/missing the playoffs. we don't have the players to compete with the best of the east and it's clear that they couldn't move J.O. before the trade deadline because he's broken and has a huge contract. as i see it, we're stuck in mediocrity until we are able to move the large contracts or are able to draft a immediate difference player. we can't move J.O., so let's tank this season and look to next year. i'm not a hater, it's just the way i see it.

Praise God. See what happens when we pray for God to lead, guide and direct them in the way they should go? To give them His strength to make it through. We HAVE to have faith in God first and then pray for the Pacers. Not to win, because everyone can't be winners, but to use their talents to the there very best. The end results will be much better.

The guys played their hearts out and I am SOOOO proud of them. Guys we want the same or even better tonight. YOU can do it, you have proven it, so get out there and score, defense, offense and a lot of TEAM work and great plays. I enjoyed Jeff Foster shooting more last night. I still think he could be our clutch player with some practice and faith in himself.
God bless the Indiana Pacers! Go, Fight Win!

You don't want guys on the team who don't try hard to win every game, whether or not they have the talent to do it. The Pacer's best chance to get better is to have young players develop. The draft will be a crapshoot in the range they are likely to finish in, with mostly young guys with one year of college behind them who are going to need several years to develop to the level the Pacers need. Obviously O'Neal takes up a lot of slaary and can't play. He could opt out and take less money and go be a sub on a contender like McDyess, Hill and the guys Miami had on their championship team. He could retire and enjoy his body for the rest of his life like Bender did. Or he could stay and make millions sitting out and getting abused by Pacers fans. Maybe he could even get reasonably healthy again and help the Pacers. Whatever he does, the future is developping the young guys, and you don't do that deliberately learning bad habits and losing games.

As I have said before, some people can't be satisfied. You have to ignor people of this nature and get out there and do your best.

To the Indiana Pacers, the Bible says in Matthew 7:7 ASK, and it shall be given you; SEEK, and ye shall find; KNOCK, and it shall be opened unto you (8) For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
You have been SEEKING and you have found a way if you will apply it; You have KNOCKED and the door has been open now, if you will only go in and again apply it; Now you need to ASK Him for guidance and strength and knowledge as to how to straighten this out; and again apply it. Work together and pray together as a team. God bless each and everyone of you. Now apply all this and get out there tonight and WIN! Go, Fight Win!

This applies to anyone's life. If there is truly a secret of how to be a success in life this is it. Ask, Seek, and Knock. God bless you all! I said be a success, I did not say you will become a billionaire...just a success. He said He would supply all our NEEDS, NOT our all the toys we want. He would give us the desires of our hearts, NOT everything we want. Some things may harm us.

Have you all ever noticed, no matter what, Mike Wells spins a negative spin on the Pacers? They won the game, and yet the headline on the front page is "Shooting Woes". I know the Pacers are terrible this year, but how about a little positive light on the situation when they finally win something? If you ask me, a portion of the negative public view of the Pacers is fueled by an unbalanced, biased view from the Star. I'm not advocating painting an unrealistic, rosy picture, but how about some balanced reporting of both the good and bad?

better talk-backs lately on the whole...to get a winning tridation back takes time and tanking doesnt help, its not a good way to live eiteher...
I hope all the believers stay together and weed out all the negative stuff -we will party some day together, it may take time, but oh what a party it will be...
the rest of the haters will be there at the chapionship parade but we will know in our hearts we were with them all the way...
Stay close true fans. Go Pacers.

Man, even though we won last night, this deal of rolling over after 43 minutes is getting old.
Tonights back-back should be pretty revealing on how much desire this team really has to win, and may be we can get to 44 minutes before we tank it.

Daily Horoscope for December 28

Scorpio

The thought of the sales is almost too good to resist today, and you'll jump at the chance to see what's on offer. Even better if you can snap up some bargains at the same time. It's certainly a good day for investing your money carefully, but make sure you aren't more seduced by the reduction in the cost of something than in the item itself. Are you certain that you want to buy it?
