After being stopped by the cops with this same guy in the car Williams stated that he needed to keep better company. Now this same guy is caught driving a truck that belongs to Williams only a few blocks from his house. If Williams did not know that this guy was in town then how did he gets keys to Williams truck? Was Bohannan in Williams house without Williams knowledge? Why would Bohannan try to go to Williams home if Williams really did tell him that they can't hang out anymore?
Williams is just another player that will not let go of his trouble past. The Pacers need to let this kid go before he becomes the next Tinsley. The Pacers organization can not continue to build around these types of players. The Pacers simply need to let his contract expire and move on. Unfortunately for Pacers fans, Williams is part of Larry Birds core group of players and will be a Pacer for as long as Larry is here. Bird needs to be fired so the house cleaning can begin.

He was previously arrested WITH this guy, and this guy got into his home and was DRIVING HIS TRUCK without him being present. This tells me he knows Shawne Williams EXTREMELY well to just show up at his house, in his absence, hang out for a while, and hop in his truck and go for a ride. Someone else had to be at the house ALSO that knows him very well and also knows that Shawne would not have a problem with Gary driving Shawnes' truck. This tells me that Shawne's other friends know Gary very well and know he is allowed into the house when Shawne isn't home AND is allowed to drive Shawnes truck without asking him. That is EXTREME familiarity people. How DARE the Star insult me with their disgusting support of BOTH of these scumbags. Shawne Williams is a pathetic piece of garbage and should be jailed for harboring and aiding and abettting this fugative. The Pacers make me want to puke. And so does anyone who accepts or defends this BS!

"Mr. Williams did not invite this individual to either visit or stay at his home.... It would be entirely inaccurate to assert in any way that Shawne assisted the person who is now in custody."

I assume Shawne will be pressing charges for Car Theft since he did not know this guy nor give permission to use his vehicle???

DOUBT IT!

You say you want to restore public trust, then you tell us Shawne Williams didn't know the guy was in his house? Restoring public trust by lying...great strategy!

The Pacers lack morals in the locker room and lack the type of veteran or just plain strong presence to make the team want to go out and play their hardest every night. You have two players in Granger and Dunleavy who play well, but no one to push them above and beyond every night. I don't think it's the type of player that you go out and buy, it's the type of player that strong teams draft then raise in the type of situation that cultivates that type of team experience. I'm sick of Larry Bird's empty promises, and it's getting to the point where his legacy as an executive is starting to taint my views on him as a player.

What?

You don't believe Shawn Williams?

Because his lawyer did the speaking? Oh you cynics.

Oh, you don't beleive him because he was in trouble with this same guy before? Don't you know that the world is full of coincidences? Shame.

Oh, you don't beleive him because he was in from of William's home, which apparently not broken into, driving his truck, with his keys? Tsk tsk

How sad... such little trust given to a guy who has worked so hard to build trust.

Ooops.

Hey nice move picking up the option on Williams contract...one week AFTER being arrested. Good thinking!
But remember, the Pacers orginization doesn't condone or support this type of behavior! Hahahahaha.

I am certain Bird will get to the bottom of this and eventually gain the trust of the fans, afterall he has done a wonderful job to this point, the fans are entirely trusting of Larry and they are more than trusting of the team and the players..

Perhaps Larry ought to seek advice from Bill Polian on how to effectively run a professional sports franchise. Simply amazing how this once proud franchise continues to spiral out of control.

If you ask me, in regards to the draft, the Pacers need to look at guys who have played 3 or 4 seasons of college basketball. When you get a one and done guy, you definitely are going to deal with some maturity issues. Pick a guy like DJ White who has paid his dues and is a team leader.

Stephen Jackson (i know he isn't a pacer now)-- No College experience.
Williams -- 1 season
Daniels -- This guy actually graduated from college...somehow (Auburn).
Tinsley -- High School dropout. Earned a GED, then went to Iowa State for 2 years.

Pacers who you may actually consider role models:

Mike Dunleavy -- 3 years at duke
Danny Granger -- 2 years at bradley and 2 years at new mexico. Majored in civil engineering
Troy Murphy -- 3 years at Notre Dame
Ike Diogu -- 3 years at ASU
Travis Diener -- 4 years at marquette
Jeff Foster -- 4 years at SW texas

Jermaine O'neal is the only exception. I'll take some heat for this because I realize a lot of hoosiers out there dislike him because he hasn't lived up to his hype. But, he hasn't had any off the court issues, you can actually understand him when he talks, and really comes off as a pretty good guy.

Overall, I think the pacers have a good group of guys, but unfortunately the ones who stand out and tarnish the team are the bad apples. Time to try and figure out how to unload in the offseason! Although I like JO, its time for him to hit the door as well. hopefully he goes to a team where he can have an opportunity to get a ring. Hopefully Indy gets something nice in return.

Is that a real quote? "We don't want our players hanging out with murderers." You've got to be kidding. It's way past time for the Pacers to do some serious firing of folks. This has moved from the ridiculous to the sublime. I will not even watch the Pacers much less buy a ticket until such time as I see some changes.

Daily Horoscope for December 20

Libra

It's another day when tensions are rife and you feel stretched to breaking point. You might even totally lose your temper with someone, instead of merely snapping at them as you did yesterday. Mars stomps into reverse today, so it would be better to clear the air now with a row, and then forget all about it, rather than allowing bad feelings to accumulate and fester inside you.
