Civil suit filed against Lakers guard Brown

Lakers guard Shannon Brown was served papers for a civil case being filed against him in Denver before the team's Game 6 win over the Nuggets on Friday, Brown's agent Mark Bartelstein confirmed Sunday.

I really don't think that he'll come back after a season ending injury . All of a sudden , he gets excited and wants to come back for the Finals series ? I don't think that's a wise thing to do 'coz he might as well sit this one out and wait for his real chance and maybe he'll play longer in the NBA .
But no matter what , the Lakers should be prepared for Orlando 'coz again , they are not a chump team for us to be over confident with . Go Lakers !

Another example of a litigious society out of control because lawyers become politicians and judges think they're politicians and create laws to enrich and empower the legal profession.

This country needs immediate tort reform! It's too easy to file a baseless, shakedown lawsuit. Lawyers do it to businesses in Los Angeles every day with people disabled for reasons like drug abuse and gang crimes by filing for supposed violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act even though their clients may have never even been inside the business. The ADA law has cost our society billion in unnecessary costs, like elevaters to 2nd floors. Violations include entry doors that require too much force to open; tables not high or low enough, restroom entryways too narrow, sinks too high or lows, toilets with grab bars too high or low, and many other silly "violations" of this over-reaching law. And no actual damage has to be proven -- courts award ridiculous sums to these shakedown artists and put good businesses out of business.

Obviously they want this to just "go away" but if they settle and the lying whore and her greedy lawyer get paid then it just encourages copycat schemes, as no doubt this is a copycat of when Katelyn Faber falsely accused Kobe Bryant of rape and ended up getting a fat settlement to get the story out of the headlines.

Would that this were true, but people & companies settle completely baseless lawsuits all the time to make them go away.

In the case of an athlete the longer a story is in the headlines the more damaging it is to the athlete's reputation and if he loses endorsements it could cost more money than the settlement, this was especially true when Kobe Bryant was falsely accused of rape by Katelyn Faber because Kobe was Kobe was married at the time he and Katelyn Faber had consensual sex, so even if the rape allegation was clearly bogus, the adultery aspect of it was bad for his reputation.

Sadly since Katelyn Faber got paid quite a bit for her lies, it only encouraged other unscrupulous women to sleep with athletes and then make rape accusations against them to get that easy money.
