Hughes and Bibby half-assing 40% from the field with no depth in the front court. Gibson and Sasha on the bench.

I can't wait.

Temple, I'm not a fan of the Hughes and Bibby part. But Gibson and Pavs coming off the bench isn't bad. (though i wish the starters in front of them warrented it.) Gibson could benifit from another year coming off the bench, he's been much less effective when starting so far. Not saying its ideal but it doesn't bring me to vomit.

Why can't they just forget about Bibby. Damn, let Gibson play the point.

I'm not sure Bibby is the answer. If all you're losing is Gooden and Jones...then why not.

I think the Cavs should get Mike Bibby because he bring a pg that can lead the offense and can shoot outside. It makes sense to get him.

The Cavs need to do something!! Eveyone else is getting better and we are staying the same!! Gooden would be a Huge loss. But I think a pt guard needs to be a priority!! But if Gooden goes Wild Thing must Stay!! Can't lose both of them!!

gibson is the future, but I agree, gibson and sasha coming off the bench would be a good thing!! We had no bench last year!!

gooden and jones for bibby is a steal for the cavs if they can re-sign anderson varejao. they get jones' contract off the books and varejao can play more minutes. bibby is an excellent PG and booby can back him and hughes up.

it would be good 4 the cavs to have bibby, he can help in cavs rotation as wel as offense....although brown and bobie can cntribute they're really in need of veteran pg.......

I wouldn't mind a Varejao sign-and-trade here. Give them Andy and a throw-in player (like Jones) and we take Bibby. I like Andy, but I'd rather have Gooden. I know he's not exactly the second coming of Karl Malone, but he's got a consistent 12- to 15-foot jumper and just has a better overall game.

Then you have a starting five of Bibby, Hughes, LBJ, Gooden, and Z. Then you got Boobie and Sasha coming off the bench. The only other need would be some depth at the 4/5 spots.

This would be a disaster. An expensive, aging PG for a rock-solid (and cheap) PF? I'm all for this if we can include Hughes in the deal (yeah right), but if we supposedly need offense* why aren't we targeting more affordable FAs - Mo Williams or Matt Barnes?

Also, with the emergence of Gibson I'd say the SG guard spot is of far greater concern than PG. Sorry, neither Sasha or Hughes are cutting it.

*we need better players period, not offensive-minded ones.

I would hate to lose Gooden. He is a strong rebounder and one of our best outside shooters. He also has a good team first attitude or so it seems. Bibby is good but is he our best option?

I agree, but unfortunately they're probably gonna be stuck with Hughes. I can't imagine a scenario in which they could get rid of him at his salary. They'll probably have to end up sticking with him and hoping he pans out eventually.

Larry Hughes has become the Aaron Boone of the Cavs.

Drew Gooden loves to play here, can play and get along with Lebron (unlike grouchy Hughes) and still has tremendous upside. I wouldn't trade him for Bibby period.

The "emergence of Gibson?" What "emergence?" A little tattooed kid that's barely old enough to drink has a few good games and lots of lousy games, and he's "emerged?" From what, the 'hood?

I would hate to loose Gooden, but Bibby is a premier point guard in the NBA, and to have himw with Lebron, Z, and a healed up Larry Hughes, i think we would be the top team in the east coming into the season.

Too bad we can't get rid of Loura Hughes, nothing will change with her game next season, hurt, miss wide open looks from 7' to 15', turn the ball over.
I can't stand to watch her play knowing what she makes

As long as we can re-sign Andy, I'd be all for trading Gooden and getting Bibby. We need to make SOME moves this offseason to get better if were as serious as team management says we are about winning a championship. Can't just throw four bums out there and expect Lebron to put up game 6 of the Detroit series numbers every night. Z is getting really old for a center, and I'd be surprised if we can get 9 points and 10 boards out of him each night. Boobie needs more time to develop (hence why we took him in the 2nd round) and Hughes is just a waste. He's an decent player who just ends up getting hurt and spending half the year "re-discovering" the same game he's played his whole life. Get Bibby, bring some offense to the point guard spot. EVEN if it means over paying for him for the next two years. Our window with Lebron is only so big.
