This could be good for the Cavs if the Big Doofus plays well, but at 37 I'm not so sure. It's obvious that this is a one time, one shot deal to get LeBron his ring and get him to stay. If it doesn't work and LeBron gets miffed, say good-bye Cavs fans.

O'Neal realizes that this is his final legit shot at winning a title. He will come to camp in shape and will put in more minutes on average than he has in the last five years.

Argueably the three best players in the NBA are Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and D.Wade. If Shaq should happen to win a title in Cleveland, he will have won with each of them. That does not really feed his ego, especially now since he is past his prime.

The Cavs made this move to best the Orlando Magic.
They no longer look at who they must beat in the West to win the Finals, they know now that that the road to the Finals runs thru Dwight Howard, and this is why they they picked up "The Big Complaint."

They must now re-sign Varajao, and find a long perimeter player the likes of a Trevor Ariza to also make a dent in Orlando's offensive assault.

The East just became a little more interesting, but understand that the Magic also are looking for a guy at the four spot who can create his own offense. Ironically, Phoenix might provide that in Central Florida native Amare Stoudemire, or they may also go after restricted free-agent Carlos Boozer.

It's becoming an interesting off season!

I agree, the east just got a little more interesting.
How do you figure the C's into the equation with a healthy Garnett this next season to come?

This is GREAT news for the HEAT. Shaq will make Cleveland worse rather then better. Now if the HEAT can upgrade we will be back into the finals!

They Can have the big meat head. He won't play more than 30 games next season and he will blame everyone but himself for the calves failures next year.

I feel bad for LeBron, he's after a championship at the expense of living with that ego for a year.(I'd bet money that he slams Phoenix somehow at the announcement table)

And he is so overplayed in the media and the endorsements. I'm getting so tired of seeing him I'm to the point that I WON'T buy anything I've seen his face on (hear that advertisers?).

Its a desperation move by Cleveland. They are trying to buy a ring, instead of letting the team grow like how the lakers did. Lebron and that team just needed a few years, and this will set them back. Anything less than a championship will call for this move to be over and done with, and regardless of it all, I still like the Celtics or the lakers even with shaq in the cleveland lineup.

With Shaqwill on the floor the cavs will lose a few more games next year, still not get past the Heat or Majic, waste part of LeBron's career with and over rated a z z clown on the team who'll leave towm blaming every one but himself for the team diegressing while he's on it. Bringing in shaq will cost the Cavs at least two years, probably three.
