Even Hughes was okay in this game. With all their flaws the Cavs certainly don't get the respect they deserve from the media outside of Ohio. The Barkleys of the world call their participation in the Finals the "biggest fluke." Well, they are doing something right -- mostly LeBron for sure. But Brown has all these dislocated parts fitting together. Now I'm not so sure trading Gooden for Bibby is a good idea.

Great game and best of season for the Cavs, but the need for Cheap A$$ Ferry to get a good point guard continues to show if the Cavs are to contend with Detroit & Boston. That would put them over the top.

Don't look now but this train is on a roll - PHX friday tells the tale if we are a pretender or contender.

Can't you be happy for once? How many times do people have to explain the Ferry is hampered by the salery cap dumba$$! Get it through your thick skull already. Enjoy the fact that they have won 11 of 13 since Christmas. That's what you get for pulling for the squeelers who you told us all year would be in the Super Bowl. 31-29 baby! Remember that all winter!

Well said east side..

and OMG...let it go already man. I mean I know your Grumpy, but you post the same thing over and over..

If the cavs can steal andre miller, that would be good..He is a good defender at the point
But a quote blockster trade for bibby would be
really bad..as we would lose gooden.

Its clear from here that the hold outs early in the season set this steam back. Now the chemistry is there. And Gibson is 1 year better.

if hughes can do anything posive and minimnize the negatives, that would be great too..

Lets just see what happens in the next couple of weeks!

Atlanta rightfully has called you out on your constant "cheap A$$" comments. The Cavs management and ownership have shown NO hesitation or reluctance to spend for the good of the time, including by most reports training & locker facilities that rank among the best in the league.
We all know that Cavs overspent on Hughes, and I can't remember anything but applause for the move at the time. The Cavs are far from the only team to be stuck with an overpaid underperforming player. If you can quit your grousing you can see the realities that Ferry is dealing with, and the fact that he's doing a pretty good job.

POINT GUARD? THEY HAD 40+ ASSISTS LAST NIGHT. THEY ARE PLAYING SO GOOD IF THEY MAKE A MOVE IT WOULD BE A MINOR TRADE. 2ND OR 3RD STRING PG.

Klanman grump is not worth responding to. But for those of you who know what you're talking about below is a link to the cavs salary. At 76 mil we're the 4th highest salay in the league. Anyone calling the organization cheap is just stupid. Its sad because dumb can be fixed, stupid is forever.

We still have a lot of work to do if we want to win 40 games.

actually we are back on the the same pace as last year. But we gotta keep winning, be nice to get 2 of 3 outta these games coming up. The division is not out of the question, especially with us playing the pistons twice in march and twice in april.

The pistons and celts look like they may have blown their loads early, while the cavs look poised for a second half run.

I have a big problem with fan trades. They almost always be predicated on the idea that the other team's management are idiots. We'll give up players that are terrible or benchwarmers which of course the other team will gladly give a superstar for. Then there are contract, money, and cap issues along with coach input, chemistry, and star approval ('cause we all know that Kobe & LeBron and etc. have some say).
It all looks good in fantasy but reality is a matter better left to the guys who do this for a living.

Sweet game.reminds me of watching the sixers pound on boston back in the early 80s'.If the front office makes a trade now, they would be properly characterized as idiots.DON'T CHANGE A THING...

When tuning in WTAM last night I so fortunate to hear Lenny Wilkins acknowledge all the old hands in town for Black Heitage Night and the Tribute to Martin Luther King Jr.
Seems like yesterday Wilkens was the floor general that left the art of playing basketball on our Akron Cabl;evision.
Oh as for the record points in one quarter it surprised me thinking when the Cavs wore the gold throwbacks and shot 75 percent against the Knicks when Silas was Coach.
Percentages and points are different and yes both feats were simply great.
Now Pheonix comes tomorrow night and the beat goes on .Let's hope that this team play soothes the soul of all contented.

Sincerely,
Paul D.Brown

The salary cap puts a damper on the trade game to begin with. The amount of cap space (or lack thereof) that we have at the moment makes deals very difficult to put together. In additon, Danny Ferry is a tough negotiator who would rather sit tight than sign off on even a moderately risky deal. This might be a good thing-there's a lot to be said for stability on a team.
Don't get me wrong, a point guard that can distribute the ball would be nice...But maybe we should just be happy with what we've got-a very, very good team.
The three team Bibby deal might happen, but don't hold your breath.

"Johnny Warren?" Other than the young Cavs PR flack that passed out that stat to the beat writers and to the rest of the media who attended the game, who ever called him "Johnny" Warren?

You, pal, are clueless. The sole reason they are over the salary cap is because Ferry thought Shannon Brown sucked in a major way, so he felt forced to sign Pavlovic. Then Charlotte signed Varejao to an offer sheet, so Ferry had no choice. Combine these facts with a general manager behaving like a cash-loaded drunken sailor stuffing his dollars in a g-string at a strip joint during Ferry's infamous Summer of Sam, also known as 2005, and there ya go.

So, yeah, the organization IS cheap. Well, not necessarily cheap, but clearly its pinching pennies these days.

You sound like an idiot. How the he.l are we cheap while having the 4th highest payroll in league. Tell me this as well. When we signed LH was it not the best possible scenario for the Cavs since mike redd and ray allen went for the mega bucks. Did we not over pay Z tons of loot? And if we didn't who the he.ll we're we going to get. Don't give me this cheap sh.t, obvisouly you're the one who doesn't have a clue. Did Dan Ferry sign Eric Snow for 7 mil in 08-09? He.ll no! STFU and read it again.
