I would really hope that the Cavs must be the most active among ballclubs in the waiver wires. If Boykins is not an option because of his size, I would love to see the Cavs take a serious look on Darius Washington (assuming the Spurs drop him) and take in Howard. This team is clearly lacking the talent and the only way to set a positive tone is for Ferry to surround Lebron talent good enough to compete in the reloaded East. The team's down as Lebron is down (who everybody is looking up to for leadership) as he knows that we would take a mountain to bring his team over this year practically without any change in roster other than much hyped "chemistry/experience ". You could look as far as Miami if you know what I mean.

CAVS will be LOSERS !!!! Not return to the finals for you.

Cheap A$$es Gilbert & Ferry have done nothing to improve the Cavs this season. They will be lucky to make the playoffs. Don't give me that future cap availability excuse, losing is losing.

Sign you holdouts, Anderson Varejao and Sasha Pavlovic now.$6.7 million for Eric Snow this season is laughable. Both deserve more then Eric Snow don't you think?

A$$ LeBron James can't carry the entire club. He'll play the next 3 years with the Cavs then move to NY where the Knicks will get some players to support him correctly.

Maybe if Ferry hadn't sat on his hands all summer he would have Plan B in place and the team could move on without Varejao and Pavlovic. It's not good when the Franchise Player doubles his pay but wishes he were somewhere else.

I'm starting to get the feeling that it's going to be LeBron or Ferry in the end, and Gilbert just might decide to stick with Ferry. Too bad.

By the way, these pro-Ferry columns are a disservice to the reading public.

Ferry is starting to take heat from national sports writers and rightfully so. Marshall, Hughes, and Jones are all flops. You know the story. Don't tell me you didn't thing this guy would haunt us again. Another Bill Musselman era is dawning. Soon, James will be in NY, the team will lose 60 games and the NBA will have to award the team a bunch of draft picks to save it.

Grumpy Old Man, or OMG as you signed in today, didn't the nice warm cup of tea soothe you the other day? You really need to smile more. Why take such a negative view of EVERYTHING?'Bron isn't going anywhere anytime soon. If he ever does leave it will be a time to reflect on what he brouoght to this NE Ohio area. One man alone has helped to bring the excitement back to the area. Stop complaining and just enjoy what you have in front of you. At your age you may not have many years left. DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY!

Hey Big Rob, it's obvious OMG can't stop b*tching because of his own feelings of inadequacy. Jeez it's textbook. Can some psych student out there gimme an amen? It's simple...if you know deep down inside that you are worthless then you spend every minute pointing out the worthlessness of others to make yourself feel better. Don't try to save him, once a loser always a loser. I'll bet he can't even satisfy a woman. those are usually the most mouthy ones.

I, as many Cleveland sports fans, have endured many years of ridicule. In a city where poverty is on the rise and morale is low, this year's sports teams were a welcome pick-me-up. Unfortunately, the Cavs have handcuffed themselves with bad contracts, which prevented them from being able to be active this summer. It doesn't make me happy, but it is a reality. We will be a mediocre team this year in the much-improved Eastern Conference, and can only pray that we are able to keep Lebron after his current contract.

Boykins? Loser? HA...you're just as funny as you are stupid.

Please. Give us names of "winners" and their salary and how they would fit into the Cavs payroll, the luxury tax, salary cap et al that's involved.

Answer ALL of them, please OldManDumbass. We'll be waiting.

Nail the doors shut on that dump arena and move the Cavs to Vegas! The NBA is a game for thugs and losers. Fold 'em up and shut 'em down. Who cares?

There aren't any winners left, except the last cut castoffs now who are just trying to hookup with a team for NBA minimums. Cavs waited too long. The season is lost. Cavs are going to be LOSERS and so are you !!!!

When that goofy son of Gloria James came over to The Jake and screwed with the Tribe's mojo...he committed a sin I will never forgive him for. I am on old man that loves baseball. One Indians World Series win is worth ten NBA championships by the Cavs, to me. There...I said my piece!

Juwan Howard in Cleveland

After learning that Juwan Howard was in Cleveland this weekend made me think? Is it worth it to sign him for a year or two. Signing him will show Andy he can loss everything in a blink of an eye. I think he would be the vetern presence we need, more then Marshell. We have to go over the cap to get the palyers we need. Next year a lot of salery is freed. It only makes us better.

Why does Windhorst think, that just because he uses comma, that a sentence, can last, for the entire length of the paragraph when I know he went to a private school, with solid English teachers who must be sick, when they read his choppy, run-on sentences?

Andy and Sasha are decent players and they will be missed but neither one is worth a $10,000,000 annual contract. The Cavs were exciting to watch last season and the fans thought with that year of NBA Finals experience, they would be pumped and ready to go after the title in 2007-08. Greedy, selfish individuals can kill a team the the fan's hopes in a heartbeat. I hope Ferry won't mortgage the future. I hope Sasha and Andy choose to get on board, but in the meantime, signing Juwan Howard and Earl Boykins sounds like a smart move! Both have the ability to inject life off the bench and put points on the scoreboard. Get them, Danny, while you can!
