Sasha & Larry are anything, but starters in the NBA. They both suck this season. Larry is way over paid and can't shoot. Sasha has forgotten how to play defense & shoot. Ferry needs to get a real point guard to lead the team. The defense is much improved with AV back, but if they can't score, it doesn't matter.

Today's standing have the Cavs not making the playoffs. When will Ferry make a move to get that point guard? Without one, I guess they hope for a high lottery pick.

Defense is all well and good....but.....why not spend a little time on basic offensive problems, which result in costly turnovers. What are they? Sloppy passes! Dribbling too much! Poor spacing! Too many long jumpers! Jump shots with 20 seconds on the time clock. All these things result in no baskets for the Cavs and easy baskets for the other team. None require anything other than concentration and effort to improve. It might also help if the coach would stress them as much as defense.

UNTIL FERRY MAKES A MOVE< WHY BOTHER ROOTING FOR THIS MEDIOCRE TEAM!! its pathetic and the whole city of cleveland should boycott them until ferry does anything. AWFUL and I want to vomit every time I see hughes and pavlovic in the starting lineup!! GAG!!!

it's funny how everytime cleveland loses a game ,it's always because of defense . never once can he admit the team's offensive short comings . they can hold a team under 100 and lose and "coach" brown will blame it on defense . but for him to ever complain about the offense , that would point of his "coaching" shortcomings that he has no idea on fixing(being that he is no don nelson/ mike d'antonio/tex winters on the offensive end), and that would have to make him point out the offensively challenged players that plague that roster led by a starting backcourt where both players shooting under 40%(totally unacceptable).

It's not always defense wins a championship. It's should be both! Look at Jordan's Chicago Bulls some time ago. They were on top in both ends of the floor which gave them 2 grand slams! Mike Brown should know that it's not just defense that wins championship. Even the Spurs in last years finals have proved it to them. Defense has been good last year, but it's time to make the offense on top of the list also.

and by the way, a reminder to Mike Brown. You're defense philosohpy last year's finals never get you even just 1 win. You were swept by the Spurs! And now you tell me it's because of defense? I don't think so

I agree the key for the cav's is to play more aggressive defense and balance scoring. With lebron on the focal point surrounded by good shooters.

well i think we need someone to help lebron. it was supposed to be larry hughes. but his had a shocking time at cleveland. maybe i would get someone like a mike bibby.his might be up for grabs. if we were to get him our starting line up would be bibby hughes james gooden illgauskas. probly not certain though. well we have height, strength, speed , skill , and the ability to win the championship if we had this team zyndrais and gooden geting rebounds about 22 beetween them bibby 9 assist 20 points pavolic 10 points a few rebounds and assist and james 30 plus points 8 assist and rebounds we will be fyling. and on the bench brown can pick who to go on . gibson ? snow ? marshall ? jones ? this is why we got to were we did last season weve got the ability to if we can get someone helping lebron.

Ok this team is built around defense. Yet it hasnt been played well and although Hughes and Pavlovic are useful on this end to some extent, neither do their bit on the offensive end. Hughes has been a liability with injuries and poor play whilst wasting far too much salary cap. We seem completely lost on offense so often that the game can be frustrating to watch. What to do? A drastic improvement is needed on both ends. Too often long jumpers are shot, too often the ball is turned over. Mike Brown needs to address concentration I believe. All of these guys are pros and playing both ends of the floor should be part of their job.

I hope to see these problems rectified, or personnel manuvures made to fix the problem very soon, or we will be playing Boston or Detroit in round one - if we even get to the playoffs....

I agree. San Antonio has good shooters and with unselfish play is able to generate open shots again and again - they are the benchmark team of this decade.

I CAN SAY THE CAVS DEFENSE HAS BEEN ALRIGHT OVER THE PAST 3 GAMES, BUT AS MIKE BROWN SAID IT COULD BE BETTER. TO ME THE CAVS NEED TO PUT DANIEL GIBSON AT THE POINT-GUARD POSITION FOR LARRY HUGHES, BECAUASE HUGHES HASNT BEEN SHOOTING WELL.BUT IF BOOOBIE DO KEEP COMING OFF THE BENCH I HOPE LARRY OFFENSE AND DEFENSE HEATS UP FAST. WHAT-UP LeBron, keep up the good work out there, and remember to play and think smart not dumb.1,2,3 CHAMPIONSHIP!

brown is too much defensive minded, yes the best defense is the best offense, but if some of your starters CAN'T SHOOT THE BALL, and u'r gr8 in defnse, U WILL STILL LOSE!

lebron needs to do more statistically. but with less effort(his game declined since his injury). moving w/o the ball, scoring outside rebounding, running in the fastbreak, passing to open teamates..and in the 4th qtr, go to the basket each time he touches the ball and create oppurtunity for his teammates. he needs to maximize his talent. physically he is so much more gifted than his opponents i dont uderstang why he cant dominate the game everytime(like kobe does). he is so much better than kobe, his potential is endless.. he just needs to have that fire, the sense of urgency when he is needed, that "killer instinct" when the opposing team is on the ropes. that self-motivation that bird had. personally i can see him averaging a triple double the whole season if he would have all the mental tools.

Should just start the 5 best players.

Gibson, Hughes, Lebron, Gooden, Big Z

That is the best lineup there is allaround offense and defense.

Unless they make a trade for a real veteran point guard (Like Mike Bibby who would be the PERFECT man for the job with his shooting and clutch ability, plus his running the offense and playmaking combined with Lebrons playmaking)........

But yeah, no trade happened so that is the best starting lineup and once that is our starting lineup FINALLY we will get on a ROLL!!! Lebron, Hughes, Gibson, Big Z and Gooden (With Jones, Pavlovic, Varejao and Brown off the bench)....... thats where we get on a serious roll.(That should be the 5 man unit closing most games too with a possible Varejao replacing either Gooden or Big Z if theyre having a bad night and Varejao has a great game, or a Pavlovic replacing Hughes if he has a bad game while Pav plays good...... bulk should be closing lineup of Gibson/Hughes/Lebron/Gooden/Bi g Z and that should always be the starting lineup)

We'll be ROLLING with that lineup, that is a stacked up lineup and could do great things.

Boobie could be a young Bibby, he should be starting..... he has proven to be more of a playmaker than just a shooter and Lebron is the focal point and playmaker that is just as good as ANY PG in the league besides Nash when it comes to passing/vision/making plays and getting his teammates open shots (Which Boobie knocks down consistently, and boobie is clutch like Bibby)

Boobie isnt the greatest playmaker, he may only get 4 assists a game as your starting PG, but Bibby only gets 5...... Boobie is a good ballhandler, a smart player, a solid defender, a great shooter, can take it to the basket and penetrate, can make plays, get you into your offense, and is CLUTCH........ alongside Lebron he could be a very very good PG for this team (Think: Byron Scott next to Magic)....... he could give us MANY of the same things that Bibby could give us. Just alot younger and more inexperienced.

I dont know man, I think having him at PG would help out Larry Hughes alot as well. Boobie can set him up and let him play off the ball, let him just play his slashing game that made him so good in Washington....... but does Larry want it? Does he have heart? Was it just for that 1 contract year?(I hope thats not the case and he proves otherwise)........ because Larry can just play his game, put pressure on the defense, make plays, play great defense, and just SCORE. Take it to the rim and slash.... he wont have to be trying to run point but will still get the ball in his hands to make plays. That is where he could be rejuvenated back to the 20 ppg player that he was a short time ago, just have him play his game like he did BEFORE he came to cleveland.

Boobie could be the man to solve that problem, and really solve all of our PG problems. He should be starting.
