Detroit or Philadelphia? Pistons or 76ers? Detroit native Darth Vader or Philly boy Bob Saget? Who would you rather try to beat up? The answer is as obvious as W.C. Fields ' preferred epitaph.

Even Jordan had to defeat his Goliath in order to get his rings.

Bring on Detroit.. Philly will be a snoozefest.

One good thing about facing Detroit..and that is the Magic will definitely bring their "A" game. If they face Philadelphia they may let their guard down a bit.

If nothing else it will give the Magic a chance to see how far they have come and how far they will need to improve in order to compete with Detroit.

Yes Boston is very good. But I am picking the Pistons to win it all this year. So if the Magic can compete with these guys then that will tell us all that they are for real.

Beating Toronto was nice. But let's face it..Toronto is nowhere near the team that Detroit is. The Pistons will bring the defense every night. The Magic will be hard pressed to score even 90 or 95 points a game against them.

Win or lose it will have been a successful year for the Magic. I am picking Detroit to win this series in either 5 or 6 games. It will all depend on the first 2 games in Detroit. The Magic need to win atleast one of those games. If they lose both then the series will be over in 5 or 6 games. If they can split then it will go either 6 or 7 games. Either way the Pistons will come out on top. Simply put, they know how to get it done. The Magic are still about a year or two from getting there.(Please feel free to cut and paste accordingly). I would like nothing better than to eat my words, but I am afraid I will be right this time folks.

be careful what you ask for because you may get it. detroit may not look that good now but if when they get pass philly it will be a different ball game. i still think the magic can take them in 7. if not we are going to have all those low life fans from detroit posting like the craptors fans did...for one game.

This might not pertain to the subject. I do hope that someone will eventually read this comment. I have a strong belief if we go after barron davis next season and draft a Joey dorsey or Richard Hendrix the team will diffinitely go over the top. If Corey Magette come abord that would be great too. Move turk to SG and have Jameer back Davis. Or trade the first round pick for two second round. select Jamont Gordon and Richard hendrix.

Seems like the Pistons start to take care of the business after a slow start... they're still a dominating team when they want so.

It'll be a very interesting matchup, we'll see how much Orlando has improved this year.

Folks Detroit is back to form. The series with the Magic will be another walk in the park for them. They will make relatively quick work of the Magic.

It is like the Yankees when they owned the Red Sox all those years. As Pedro Martinez said "the Yankees are my Daddy". Well the Pistons are the Magic's Daddy...atleast for a couple more years.

The Pistons will win it in 5 or 6 games. The Magic will average about 90 points for the series. They will score 100 points or more maybe 1 time. And Dwight Howard will not record any 20-20 games.

Detroit will also outrebound the Magic, and they will make fewer turnovers. They will also shoot free throws better. Out of Detroits 4 wins I think 2 will be blowouts, 1 will be semi close, and there will be 1 close game.

Folks face it, the Pistons are just getting warmed up. They know that the competition is getting better. And as the competition gets better so do they.

Like I have predicted all along it will be a Pistons vs Celtics Eastern Conference Final matchup. In the West it will be the Lakers vs the Spurs. In the NBA Championship it will be the Spurs vs the Pistons. Detroit will go on to win the championship. You heard it here first folks.

Atlanta & Philly were not ready, because they were weak teams in the first place. They just ran for the $$$.

My predictions are:
1) Magic in 5!
2) Magic & Boston will be next!

If a team is good enough it will win. Or it will be close. Playing the best builds character. the only negative is when teams are close in talent, a call by a ref here and there can change a series. that you can not predict. The Magic this time must keep this team on the upswing for as long as possible. As many fans remember, they flamed out fast in the mid 1990's.

Wow, Im impressed with how poorly argued and disrespectful this article is. Cheap shots at the city (along with hokey analogies)? Come on...You have a great team to talk about and thats the best you can do David? I am however impressed with the comments of the posters. I am a Detroit fan all they way...and I love that other teams and fans consider the Pistons a dragon worth trying to slay. Thats a high honor from teams like Orlando who are great in there own right.

Philly can't shoot a lick...they are athletic though. I would have loved them ANY day over Detroit. The Pistons are going to be a touch matchup..I look forward to seeing how the matchups turn out.

We've always had small time writers here dude...we are a one horse town so they go off the deep end on every article. After one loss, the "I told ya so" article will dome from Whitely and Bianchi...then after a win, "Wan Gundy is the man" will come...

The playoffs are always about matchups...and in a series the best record is not an indicator. Rashard Lewis or Turk is the key if you ask me. DWIII will get his...but can he guard and limit silly fouls when Rasheed takes him outside. Chauncey will get his...i think we lose in that matchup. It's going to be interesting becuase Orlando is a much better perimeter sghooting team than Philly...
