Just to let you know Joe, forensic means a few different things, none of which have anything to do with dead people or yellow tape. As a noun "forensic" is the study of, or the exercise of argumentation, or scientific knowledge in legal matters. A forensic search is either one that is appropriate to be argued and examined, especially in court, or it is one that employs the use of science in that search to get a legal answer. Either way it seems that a legitimate search that is accountable to legality and is accountable to the people of this great state is essential. Wish I knew what the lawyer was actually calling for though, maybe pretend you aren't watching a Real World or on a talk show next time you write a news article.

Joe doesn't write news articles...he writes opinion pieces. There are plenty of us that enjoy his opinions. Yours, however, only matter to yourself.

But Al doesn't want to lose, and in these modern times, are we not told that we don't have to lose if we don't want to? Al is just showing how in tune he is to kids nowadays. Al is up on modern thinking. How old school of Norm to just accept that he won just because he got a bigger vote total than Al.

Well, it seems that Joey should do some homework. As a writer, I'm actually offended by this lack of fact-checking done by the Pi press. First, the Franken campaign did not ask for a fifth pile to be created, the state canvassing board came up with this idea on November 26th, and the process of sorting ballots had almost finished already by the time this was posted. Second, I'd like to hear what law is being ignored by sorting these ballots anyway. It was one of the republicans on the state canvassing board that suggested wrongly rejected absentee ballots were cast, and are actually "uncounted ballots," in which case the counties (by law!) are REQUIRED to count them.

Well, the writer at least admits to his totally ignorance of the situation when he talks about how difficult it was to understand how Coleman could gain net votes in regards to the margin (which he seemingly still does not understand). And, of course, I appreciate that he doesn't pretend to be anything but partisan, but I guess I expected more from the Pioneer Press than a Micheal Brodkorb post. Maybe there's a reason these our papers are going out of business.

Careful Danno: The process of actually thinking is not a part of the arsenal in the "Sooch" camp. That's why his slogan "Garage Logic" is so appropriate. Joe and his followers only employ the logical thinking that is the result of sprawling around work benches in the garage after inhaling gasoline and exhaust fumes.

When oh when will the PiPress start editorially reflecting its base? St. Paul and suburbs are not in Utah!

Well, let us see who we want, the guy that wants to count legally cast votes or the guy that is pals with Nasser K.
and does not want legal absentee ballots counted.

Not counting legal votes is a crime. I would go with treason.
So lets get a rope.

At least here in the Twin Towns we have a choice of newspapers (for now)-- Far, Far Left (STrib) or A Little Less Left (PiPress).

Stop the recount. This should be decided by a duel with pistols.

Joe,
Why does a great election law like MN has for close races have to be so complex in executing its recount process? The one positive thing that has surfaced in this election is that the poor way the votes are tabulated et cetera. There has to be tighter controls in ballot handling and accountability. Also, voters have to be more diligent in casting there vote, at the polling place, or, absentee voters have to be more careful in following instructions when filling out their ballots.

The way this process is dragging on, the eventual election decision will be done in the courts or the US Senate. At least Minnesota doesn't have 'hanging chads' to worry about! This state only has a lot of invective political BS and malarkey to deal with. Maybe run-off balloted elections might make the process better and more efficient in deciding elected winners.

RE:"To state 'Franken lost' is not true and you know it."

Right. Everybody knows the real winner is the one with the second-most votes; just like Al Gore in Florida. If we could just run a few more ballots through the machine again in Dinkytown everything would be fine.

Law you don't give a ratsa** about the law and D.J we all know you're a Franken tool.

Sorry the fact is Franken lost and all of us across the nation are laughing at the fact anyone would be stupid enough to vote for this twit. Minnesota you are a laughing stock and Franken continues to make you look like a laughing stock. I'm sorry that Franken is challenging that a vote for Lizard people is a vote for Franken.
Joe, your article was spot on.. Oh Joe, by the way...I found 68 Franken votes in Payton Manning's locker.

Here's a solution: Leave the post open (who would notice?)until another election for whatever is held state wide and rerun this one. Neither Coleman or Franken is allowed to run and no candidate can spend more than $100 total.
