Gomes is a nice player and shows versatility. The Wolves were s'posed to be strong from the perimeter this year with 3 players (Miller, Foye and McCants) able to shoot 40% from the arc. The only one who has hit that percentage is unpredictably Gomes!
I'm not sure he's a starter on a more accomplished team, however. He is versatile to play either the '3' or the '4', but he is also not ideal for either position. He is a bit small for the '4' and not quick enough to defend the '3'.

Picky, picky, picky! Can't we just agree he is doing a great job for the Wolves right now? All the other stuff doesn't matter.

I'm not trying to be picky. I do agree he's done a nice job. My point is that the better T-wolves players are back-ups elsewhere. On bad teams individual stats are often bloated just because somebody has got to make those shots.
Cardinal has done a good job, as has Carney and Ollie; all are career back-ups.
My analysis of Gomes (and most the players) is from the view of where they'll fit in as the team rebuilds. On a better team Gomes still does a good job, but more likely from the bench.
