Personally, if the NBA does not work out this year for Lighty and Diebler, it would be great to see them playing together again for a team overseas. Just doin' a little dreamin'.

Good luck guys sorting out this foggy mess. Hope to see you both playing again soon professionally--somewhere.

Lighty did nothing at Ohio State in five years but defend, and that makes him a huge risk at the NBA level when all he can do is defend. Teams need far more from a prospect who is going to play the SG, SF, or possibly some PF. David just does not have the needed skills to be a value. He might make a roster for a very few years if he cant learn to develop more of his game, which makes going over seas a good option if the NBA is really where he wants to be

The banner at the top "Days since last Michigan victory over Ohio State should also say "Days since the Ohio State was a clean program"!

Hey woody,

I'll take the bait. Where did that comment come from with respect to David Lighty? He had nothing to do with OSU football. He was a player who overcame some serious injuries during his career. He improved his game significantly from his first season to his last. He was the team leader last season for a team that finished 32-3 and ranked #1 in the country at the end of the regular season.

Even though he was not drafted on Thursday night, his prospects for playing in the NBA are still good. He is athletic, a very strong defender, an ever improving offensive player(47% shooter from field and 43% from 3pt. his senior season) and an outstanding team player who can fill a role where needed.

So if we can just stick to basketball here, David Lighty is still a good prospect for the NBA not the NFL.

What rock did you just crawl out from under you moron; Lighty scored 20+ 5 time and double digits another dozen times. Get your facts before you make yourself look more stupid.

Yeah buskeyenflorida, Extra practice under Rich Rod is on a par with the Tressell decade of decadence. Keep drinking the Red Koolaid away in Florida. Strange how the basketball program got good during the same time so how long until the apple falls from that tree?

Give it up Woody. It is a new era for the Buckeyes, and I believe the banner will still be there at the end of this season.

It is obvious to me that Jim Tressel was in with the head brass at the NCAA. How else would a terrible school like Ohio State have gotten all those good players? However, he probably felt guilty about cheating like that and threatened to come out about it. That is why he was fired. The NCAA needs terrible schools like USC and Ohio State to be good so they can make more money and bribe more coaches. They're probably looking for an easily corrupted replacement to Tressel now.

Hey there obviousisobvious,

Obviously, your name is a misnomer. This water cooler discussion has been about David Lighty's NBA prospects, not OSU football or Jim Tressel's prowess as a recruiter or his influence with the NCAA.

If you want to hammer away at the OSU football program, you've got the wrong address. Look around. This address is reserved for David Lighty's NBA prospects--obviously.

Obvious to you? You must have attended the School for the Blind. This a David Lighty thread. Take your biased distorted opinions elsewhere.

You are a confused puppy. Ten years make a decade, one year is just that. Use your fingers if it helps. You only get to use one though.

Tennessee Jerry, Last year is when Tressell got caught but business as usual exsisted from the start a decade ago for those that are counting like ex-players who already verified that.

Dallas L. is simply not good enough for the NBA. I loved him at OSU but he has International player written all over him. Lighty should have been taken late 2nd round instead of about 10 guys that were taken that will never see an NBA arena.
