Great article. The right tone for for an unexpected season. No one could have imagined a year ago the Lakers would have made it this far this season. Great job by the players and front office. Unbelievable and fun season!

lakers should trade lamar odom for a passsing/scoring small forward to make the lineup more flexible with gasol and odom and they also need a backup center so turiaf can be at power forward and radmonovic will probobly be traded next season

The Lakers will be back next year, and I believe Radmanovich has to go, he's a defensive liability despite his bulky size and hardly plays a factor whenever the Lakers need him. As for Odom, he should probably get some personal coaching from Magic Johnson to get some first hand tips on mental toughness---He's a good guy, but has to learn to be tougher and must work on his atrocious free throw shooting. Gasol, on the other hand, probably needs more bulk and could benefit from seeking help Kareem Abdul Jabbar, whose wisdom and well known versatility could definitely let Pau improve his game further, just as Jabbar did with Bynum. Luke Walton has to learn to be more selfish instead of just opting to pass the ball, he's supposed to be a good outside shooter but is too reluctant to take shots! As for Farmer, Turiaf and Vujacic, the three of them are relatively young and should do better, but I think Vujacic shows the most potential (among the three) to excel in the league.

I think the Lakers over-achieved this year. Nobody looks at it that way. They didn't weren't picked to win anything in the pre-season. This loss really hurts, but hopefully with a healthy Andrew Bynum they will be tougher. Gasol hopefully will get in the weight room this off-season.
