I'm all for taking Mayo...unless Riles will give us Miami's second pick in exchange for the third and the other first that he owes us. I don't want a talent-less center that got out played by color analyst Jim Peterson in one-on-one drills. OJ is a safe pick in the sense that he's talented and has the best upside/potential of the remaining lottery players. I'd love Derrick Rose, I'd like Michael Beasley, and I'll settle for OJ Mayo. Anything else will cause me to start watching hockey (if I can find it) in the fall/winter!!

This year the T-Puppies have a chance to do something in the 2nd round for a change. Two players, Joey Dorsey and Bill Walker, should be available. They bring talent and a winning attitude, something that this team could use. But with the brain trust we have, this kind of progressive thinking with pass like a fart in the wind.

I think the Wolves really like Mayo and also really like Lopez, but not at pick number three. I'm betting/hoping that the Wolves end up with both players via trades involving some big names....... ok..... medium names..... er .... current Wolves starters.

Mayo is not a "reach!" He is a legit top-5 player. Two players to watch, JaVale McGee, C, Nevada (a quick-rising prospect) and Sonny Weems, SG, Arkansas (the most athletic player in the draft).

The only thing that is going to happen for the wolves this draft day is that they blow it again. They'll probably take some stiff nobody has really heard of and hearald him as the next Kevin Garnett or Kobe Bryant! McHale really needs to step down and let someone with a true knack for uncovering or seeing talent take over as G.M. Please, Kevin, you were an astounding player for the Celtics, but you really do not have the 'eye' for talent to be a G.M. Bow out gracefully or start drafting the CONSENSOUS best player(s) available. Stop trying to recapture some lightining in a bottle! Sincerely, a loyal wolves fan until the wheels have all fallen off.

We need Mayo! A classy person, solid defender, nice shooter, good ball handler, can take the ball to the hoop. I know those skills do not fit the Wolves schemes as much as an unathletic 7-foot center, but we need star players, not role players with a #3 pick. PLEASE, McHale, stop looking for the next center project and take the best athlete - the player who would have been the number 1 pick the last 3-4 years - that is talent this squad needs!

Minnesota doesn't have a few years? That makes no sense at all. How many players that actually play are even 27 years old?? The franchise is CLEARLY a few years away from making a big impact so I say take Lopez to add another big who can contribute and that'll make Big Al only better.

Until we get a GM in here that is interested in turning this franchise into a winner istead of his former team that he played with, i'm not going to hold my breath about the future of the Timberwolves.

Everyone knows the Wolves will take Brook Lopez, I mean it makes sense after we traded Mark Blount (Blizz) last year. We need a new 7 footer that hates to rebound, play D and only wants to take 3's. It is the perfect fit McFail, can't wait for more mistakes from this pathetic franchise!!!

If the Wolves pass on which either Mayo, Beasley, or Rose (whichever one is left at 3) I am going to renounce my fanhood of them. I used to work next door to the target center and my old room mate worked for Babcock for a short time so I went to probably 150 games between 01'-04'. I want to root for the team but McHale is obviously in over his head and Taylor is so awstruck by him he lets him continue to make terrible personel moves time and time again.
Please fire Mchale before he ruins Hoiberg too.

trade down with clippers for seventh pick and absolution of first round owed.
will be a good player left at seven and clippers would do it to get mayo.
may be better to get seventh this year and own first next year than just have third this year.
improve slightly as they did this year.
get a high pick next year and a nice pick from heat then or the year after.
why upgrade foye, your second best player, with mayo who plays the same spot.
be patient, wolves will be good in two to three seasons.

I think Mayo is better than Rose is. Mayo has more talents than Rose by far. Overall Mayo is a complete player than Rose. I've been watching Rose played many times. All Rose can do is drive to the basket, he doesn't have a mid-range game like Mayo. If I was general manager or something I'd have draft Mayo. I also thing Rose is a bust of the draft.

That was music to my ears Mr Powers. I watched Mayo play last year for USC and really like how his game will translate to the modern NBA. I never thought the Wolves would have a shot at him because I figured he would go #3 in the draft (behind Rose and Beasley.) The odds of landing that specific pick were slim for MN. I was absolutely giddy when the Wolves landed the pick. I think he could very well become the best player to come out of this draft class. In addition to his ball skills, I love his leadership, intensity and determination to win. He would give the franchise the face it sorely needs.
It is a 3 deep draft

The only way the wolves can screw this up is by trading the 3rd pick.
We will probably get Mayo, but Beasley could slip, and that's fine too.
Talent-Talent-Talent...that's what the Wolves need.
There's substantially less talent picking later than 3rd.

If The Timberwolves don't draft O.J. Mayo, I'm hiring a hitman to take McHale out (just kidding) but seriously, you'd have to be a complete ninkompoop not to get this guy. In my opinion, he should be the first pick.
