O'Neal powers Heat to 8 in row

Full story: South Florida Sun-Sentinel

All Heat center Shaquille O'Neal wanted was a chance. So he waited through a foul-filled first half.

I am a die hard heat fan. I know all their strengths and limitations. Walker by far is a player that make you cringe every time that he touches the ball because he is doing one of two things, He is either traveling or missing three's badly, but I must say that he does come through when it counts. As much as walker scares me, I still understand that he is one of three players on the Heat that can create his own shot. Now if he makes them on a consistent basis is a different story? I like Gary Payton because he still plays great D. Yes he does commit stupid fouls from time to time, but you have to take the good with the bad. Payton usually makes sound decisions on the offense of end. How little that we forgot how instrumental that he was in the heats championship victory last year, so give Payton a break. He is the oldest player in the NBA probably and he is defending players that are in their twenties on a consistent basis. If that is not impressive, I do not know what is. Eddie Jones was a good addition to the heat because he plays his role very well. We have to understand what is happening with the Heat at this moment. The Heat is playing well without Wade at this point. Now imagine when the heat gets Wade back and if Jason Kapono get his groove back. The heat will be unstoppable. Not even the Mavs stand a chance if the Wade and Kapono rejoins the heat and plays at their peak level. Yes I said it and I will take it a step further. No one in the east or the west will stand a chance.

O'Neal powers heat to 8 in a row??? Ira, did you watch the game last night? O'Neal missed the entire first half with fouls. Shaq did a great job when in there, but how about giving some credit to UD! 21 Points and 10 plus rebounds. UD POWERS HEAT TO 8 IN A ROW!

Way to go Heat. Enjoyed watching the game on TNT. There are very few teams that have the personel to stop Shaq. Eight in a row. Wow!

FUNNY CAUSE THE MIAMI HERALD SAID EDDIE JONES AND HASLEM LEAD HEAT TO VICTORY. ALL IT SAID ABOUT SHAQ WAS THAT HE HARDLY PLAYED WITH FOUL TROUBLE. I MEAN HASLEM HAS 21 POINTS SHAQ HAD 12 SO WHO LEAD THE HEAT TO THIS VISTORY ISNT HARD TO FIGUER OUT.

You got to love this team...Without Wade, Heat are 9 and 2. The Heat are playing team basketball. Like the man said, with Jason Williams running the point, Heat are 16 wins and 3 loses. Williams assists to turnover ratio with the 12 last night and no turnovers, JWILL is # 1 now in the NBA. Heat now playing true Champions. All the guys are stepping up.

Lets keep the streak going too! I don't think Payton is as washed up us you think. He has a low turnover rate and is very experienced for a backup point guard. He does still play some good D too. That is why Riley likes him. He plays smart. There are a lot of guys I would rather have, but he is still quite serviceable. Walker needs to limit his 3s to 1 or 2 a game just to keep the D honest. He hits them at key times because he heaves them constantly at key times.
Payton still plays some good D? Can you PLEASE inform me of some of this good D? What game, what quarter, against WHO?

While Payton was certainly once known as a good defender (nicknamed "The Glove" for just that), he no longer is. He now plays worse defense than practically ANY guard in the NBA.

If you can tell me ONE game where he played good D I'll hear you out, but I've watched them all, and I haven't seen him play good D EVER this year.

You want to see a 35 year old playing good D, take a good look at EJ. THAT'S GOOD D.
