I think they have a far better chance of making the playoffs than your radio show has of being a hit.

I still believe you're mistaken! I think they're capable of at least 50 wins. And they seem to be improving every week.

I believe that it is not a question of "will the Pacers make the playoffs?" so much as "Will the Pacers be able to compete and win in the playoffs?". That is a totally different question that wonders how good are the Pacers?

I don't know, Roy. Kravitz always seems like such a down-to-earth regular guy. He's so likeable. It's not as if he makes condescending statements to J.O. or whoever he happens to be speaking to. With this sort of common touch, yet such a charm and wit about him, his program will be sure to be a success.

No, I don't really think that at all. Kravitz is a goof. Old Roy is right.

Bob, why even write this? You essentially wrote an article that says "in spite of the evidence, I am still a genius." No, you are not. The Pacers in the playoffs is going to happen. The East is weak and the Pacers have only had one bad stretch (the 6 game losing streak early on). 26 games into it is a decent sample and the Pacers have proven you wrong.

Good article, although I will agree to disagree with you on O'Neal...he is an albatross and this franchise will not get really great again until he is not looked to as a team leader/franchise player....

Bob, I don't seem to recall you being upbeat at all about the Pacers before the season started. Now you act you knew all along they would be a decent team... what gives?

Anyway, thanks for the analysis which is basically - "this team is doing better than expected, but they still suck" ... Thanks Bob.

They may not be anywhere near Detroit and Boston, but I think they could compete with anyone else in the east. They are starting to put bad teams away by solid margins now. I think they could easily be a 5 or 6 seed, and maybe go to the second round.

Pacers will roller coaster along and vie for the last playoff spot, and maybe even get it. But this will effectively eliminate the chance for a viable first-round pick, and they will lose in a spirited first round of the playoffs. They will provide some entertainment (on and off the court), which of course, is what the NBA is all about these days - entertainment...some good athletes putting on a good show. Many Pacers will continue to frequent the bars in-between rounds of inconsistency on the court, because of course, what right do we have to tell these fine young men what they can and can't do with their free time. Pacers will not be able to deal JO...who would want him...and O'Brien will continue to talk about how much he hates to lose and he and the players will continue to collect their big paychecks! Yes, this is exciting Pacers basketball! Love it!

Well Bob, I think you are wrong. I was there last night and it was like a ghost town 10 minutes before the game. I thought the game started at 7:30. Going into the third quarter I was wondering if the Pacers would be able to pull off a win. The lead was going back and forth. At the end of the third quarter and most of the forth quarter the Pacers were aggressive on defense and a little bit of a show boat on offense. It was nice to see the defensive players getting 5 fouls for stopping a basket. I was concerned O'Brien would pull Foster after he had four fouls. The Pacers have got learn to beat the easy teams, which they did last night, as well as the tough teams.

Typical after-the-fact my glass is half-full journalism Kravitz. I'd like to find one sports writer that can come up with something we don't all ready know and then expect us to believe they are the masters of the pen because they wrote the obvious.
This team is playing hard and the defense is coming together, Diogu should be playing soon. It's too early to label them mediocre.

Eastern Division? Don't you mean Eastern Conference? Are you gonna make those stupid mistakes on your radio show too?

i still believe that in the long run we'll be better off without o'niel. he's still slow...and still misses too many shots. but he has played well over the past few games AND we've won. i'd love to be proven wrong by seasons end. we'll see how they do on the road over the next few weeks.

I agreed with your assessment at the beginning of the season but after 24 games, I see that O'brien's coaching is better than I thought, Dunleavy is better than I thought and if they can stay reasonably healthy I think they will make the playoffs. 6-8th seed.

Love him or hate him, people will tune in to see what he has to say. Do you realize how many replies he gets on his articles?

If the Pacers make the playoffs and nobody is there to see it, did it really happen?
