This is a great pick for the knicks and the idiot fans, including Stephen A($#*!&* Smith who is by far the most condescending, pompous and utterly arrogant person associated with basketball. It's like ESPN can't find anyone better... remember his show "Quite Frankly"... that lasted a whole 2 months. The way he treated Gallinari and wouldn't even look him in the eye when he shook his hand (barely)... was one of the most disgusting displays I've ever seen, yet not surprising because it's Stephen A. Smith.

I was hoping Gallinari would fall to the future Brooklyn Nets... however I'm not exactly upset about getting Lopez. He's a BEAST! But at 19 Gallinari was playing in a league that's wayyyyy tougher than college b-ball. Congrats Knicks fans, you now have a player than can actually play and isn't going to be traded away.

Let's go Knicks! A bold pick and a refreshing one. I think his presence will generate a new interest in the team. Need to improve the teams image after Isiah.

What the Hell do we know about this kid other than Diantoni knows his father well. We need tough hard noise players, aren't we tired of softies....C'mon we know international player tend to be too finesse for the NBA. Look how Gasol, Vujachic? and Radmonovic? handled in the Finals. A better pick would have been The Lopez kid, then Knicks would have a defensive-rebound minded big man that can score enough and it would make it easier for the Knicks to get rid of one of their big duds!

I was a bit disgusted at first, considering that the Knicks were unable to get another pick. Wanted either Jason Alexander, Kevin Love or Eric Gordon. Definitely worried about his immobility to defend quicker guys/lack of athleticism, but no question about his shot. Donnie better do something else to give us real hope.

It's funny how all the racists come out, when a white kid is picked.

It's the acceptable form of racism.

Why not trade Lee to the Bulls for Kirk Hinrich. White boy has game, and he has skills similar to Steve Nash - and he looks goofy like him too.

Stephen Smith is an ahole. Gallinari had nothing to do with who the Knicks were going to pick, and because he didn't agree with the Knicks he is rude to Gallinari. What a piece of garbage. He always thinks he knows what's best but for a Knick fan and sports announcer, he sure is one f'n moron. My 11 year old nephew know more about basketball than this douchebag.

None of us know anything about this kid. Could be Dirk Nowitzki or could be Frederic gulp Weiss. Let's hope Donnie Walsh did his homework. One think is certain, it is never falls exactly right for the Knicks. They dug a big hole over a long time and it will take a long time to dig out. I can live with it as long as we see progress.

Isiah Thomas could have made this horrible pick. How many times do we see these unathletic Europeans drafted and more often than not they don't pan out. The Knicks are not in a position to have anymore first round picks not pan out. Remember Frederick Weiss and a few others not worth mentioning.

once again the knicks blew it on draft day... i say within 2-3 years eric gordon will be an allstar and bayless will be on portland's playoff teams for years, WAY 2 GO KNICKS...on the goodside my other favorite team the nj nets, drafted perfectly they grabbed lopez at 10 to fill the center need, got the kid from cal to score off the bench n the biggest steal was chris douglas roberts from memephis 2 replace RJ watchout for the nets next year

If we get Marion on the other wing, and a decent pass-first point guard, this crew starts to look like it could play D'Antoni ball.

Now we need to ditch Marbury and Randolph, and find a new role for Lee.

another boneheaded move by the knicks. at #6, they had bayless and other guards available. instead, they take d'antoni's buddy's son. different management, same old knicks. 35 years and counting since they last won it all. one of the worst franchises in sports. danilo will be average at best. probably a sixth or seventh man. thanks jimbo.

Daily Horoscope for May 21

Pisces

It's a great day for fixing anything that needs attention now. That might be a dripping tap, a sick child, an unpaid bill or a miffed partner. However, you'll do particularly well if you need to sort out something connected with official or joint finances or red tape. You might be asked to help someone deal with a bureaucratic problem, especially if they're elderly.
