17 years too late. Good player, lousy GM and coach.

I hope this is true, and Jeff Van Gundy gets a phone call right away!

17 years and this organization has went no where but down,down,down...to the state where we are simply the laughinstock of the entire league, no question...and gee, it took only 17 years for someone to figure this out....and the sad thing about that is that it was figured out by someone who just arrived to this organization...whereas dumass Taylor couldn't find his arse with both hands....how sad this team ha become, er is....oh well, nowhere to go but up from here...

It's an awkward step in the right direction. Contrary to Mr. Kahn's timetable a coach before the draft is the next step.

And there are experienced candidates available. Hopefully, Mr. Kahn has them on speed dial.

The Marbury/Allen trade was not a low light. A very good trade for the wolves. Marbury just bolted for money and east coast which is no fault of Mchale.

Whatever in the world does President Obama have to do with McHale not coming back? Sometimes the posts on the T'wolves site have me shaking my head in bewilderment.

This is indeed a sad day for the players - they loved McHale as a coach and wanted him to return. I certainly feel for them as they have lost their biggest supporter.

I do hope Jeff Van Gundy and Avery Johnson are left off the prospective coach's list. One is a joke and the other is a dictator - neither is what is needed by a young team of players that are just learning to play together and who will have more young players added to the mix after the draft. Both of them have been out of work for a year or more - which says a lot about their value in the market. Sam M. is the best choice.

At the end of hte day, I feel sorry for McHale. I honestly think he tried his best and was finally getting some props for his coaching and now it's over. Poor legacy and ending for one of the 50 greatest players of all time. Sad to think of all his basketball knowledge going to waste.

SAD.

I thought Kevin was married to Taylor's daughter. If so must be really tough on her also. Kevin was a great player, sometimes great players do not make great coaches because not all players have that type of fire inside to compete and win. Especially now a days when money controls everything in pro sports.

Avery Johnson played for the Spurs, but he actually only coached for the Dallas Mavericks, taking them to the Finals in 2006. With that said, either he or Mitchell would be a great head coach hire.

How many years are we supposed to wallow in mediocrity? Good grief, any other team wouldn't have given him more than 5 years. Either get some decent players and a good coach, or disband. Minnesotan's are so used to sub par teams. Except for the twins, they all suck, including the college teams.

Not making a World Series in 18 years is not sub-par?

Daily Horoscope for January 2

Virgo

It's okay to have high expectations, but try to keep in mind that no one can be all things to all people. As the Moon spends one last day in its current sign, it urges you to find a way to recognize others for their strengths, and forgive them their weaknesses. Virgoans' idiosyncrasies must look like strange quirks from the outside as well! Fate ties up the loose ends towards the end of the day.
