<quoted text>Right you are Jon. Once he gets in sync with Dwight with the alley oops and such it will be totally off the hook. Also if he continues to get open shots like Jameer did when teams would choose to go underneath on the screens, you know it's just a matter of time before he starts to hit most of them.
I dont know about him knockin down shots. I think thats the thing thats kept him from being an all star is his inconsistent shot. But, he can definetely get us on track with his passing.

Finally, a pass first pg, a true playmaker. Alston will open up everyone else's game. I love it.

On a side note, Van Gundy needs to sit the starters a little sooner in games that are clearly in hand. no need to risk injury.

Nice way to bounce back after Wednesdays debacle.

It won't be long now before the Houston fans come back in here to let us all know about it.
This trade worked out good for both teams I think. The Magic got what they needed, and so did Houston.
im no going to talks smack rafer did good but we told you hes shooting was off. luckley the magic have other players who can score so i guess its not that bad when he has a horrible shooting game.

i wasnt unhappy well i was kinda at first its just alot of our fans dont know what kinda player we have in lowry hes a stud as well. and brooks did have a hell of a game he just turns the rock over to much, i honestly think we should start lowry and bring brooks of the bench for fire power.

Hey Orlando,
Aaron did have a great game tonight but I think you all will enjoy Rafer. We will still miss him in Houston. He brings toughness, heart and determination and will not back down from anyone. I hope it works out for you all. I am now rooting for the Magic in the east. By the way do not get discouraged with Rafer's shooting he is very streaky it may take some time. Best of luck.

no doubt. i liked what i saw a lot. i knew he could pass and handle, but he meshed instantly w/ the magic - which was great to see. i knew his shooting wasn't that great, but i expect his 3ball will be better on the magic - they just have too many 3pt threats and he's going to get a lot of open looks. I hope his heart, energy and toughness spread to the rest of the team. He just made it that much easier for our wing players and D12.

Man, i really hate to say it, but your adoration for Rafer will soon end. I am a Rockets fan, and most of us were happy to see him go. Rafer is a very inconsistent shooter, takes bad shots, and plays absolutely no defense. I wish you guys the bet of luck.

Rafer Alston did what we needed, fast breaks, plenty of assists and good defence.
We have plenty of shooters but no floor general since Jam went down. I think we found one and any buckets he makes is just a bonus.
Thank you Houston all the best to you guys.
P.S. I think we will pass on T-Mac been their done that.

I see LeBron got 55 tonight. He jacked up nearly 30 shots to get it. Cleveland will need a lot more of this the rest of the way.

Villanueva for Milwaukee clobbered Varejao and got a flagrant 2 foul called on him. Big Z then got right in Villanueva's grill and set him straight.

He will burn out if they do not balance out their offence.
In today's NBA you need 3 good scorers to win that title.

Great showing from Rafer! His shooting was off a bit, but that's somewhat expected given he's brand new to the team.
His "SHOOTING" was actually GOOD.
1 for 9. get used to those.
"oh we didnt get him for his shooting" you'll say.
guess what....HE'S GOING TO SHOOT WHETHER YOU, AND THE TEAM, LIKES IT OR NOT.

Some of Skips assists were downright incredible too.. He like instantly changed the ball movement for the Magic and they won easilu despite a slightly bad 3 point night. You can see the players are more comfortable and confident again like with Nelson.

Rafer did great tonight. His shot was off but his passes were right on the money every time. 1 TO 8 assists, I will take that every time. I was impressed with the accuracy of his passes even from across the court or in transition. Perfect placement of the ball. A lot of basketball analysts seem to think we will be better with Rafer as PG than with Jameer. I dont believe that but even if hes 85% of what Jameer was to the team I will take it. Jameer really stepped it up this year improved in every area, shot 50% from the floor, thats why he was an all star. As Otis said he cant be replaced but I think Rafer was the best we could have picked up without giving up any of our core players. I just hope he can knock down those wide open looks. He will get a lot of them and he will get them until he starts making them. I expect his shot to be 42 to 45% by the time the playoffs roll around. That should be a realistic goal. He needs to develop a 3 point shot as well, not so much to look for his own shot but to knock it down when the shot clock is winding down and the ball is in his hands with a good look.

this is hilarious!
"Wafer" Alston is 32 years old!!
He's not going to "learn" to shoot better! AAAAHAHAHA!
42-45% SHOOTING??? LMAO!!!
GOODNESS! YOU DONT KNOW BASKETBALL, DO YOU???
Wafer will shoot whether the team wants him to or not....AND HE WILL MISS 62% OF THE TIME.
AAAAAAAAHAHAHAHA!
this is going to be fun (yet again!)

first off I apologize to Orlando for making this a rockets conversation but Txsports if you think the rockets are better off without Rafer your nuts. I admit aaron has more of an upside and better offensive skills but Rafer knows how to run a team not to mention aaron playing defense is like watching 5 year old trying to stop a legit high school prospect. Also rafer has the intangibles and experience. This was not a great move for the rockets this year but maybe in the long run.
