Congrats to Sagemont on having a great season, but winning with a bunch of transfers really doesn't impress me.

A wealthy man spreading his money around to turn a lousy team into a championship caliber team doesn't require any great coaching ability, and instills the values that if you can't work to get what you want, just buy it.

I hope his 7 transfers play well, otherwise I guess they just get replaced by another transfer. Winning, yes. Values of loyalty and hard work, I don't think so.

What Sagemont is doing this season is truly amazing. However, I believe that the state should look into the way that Sagemont keeps getting all of these transfers. I remember a few years back when Archbishop McCarthy was building a quality program and he went in there, got close with the coaches and took players right out from underneath them. I just think that he may be using his money a little too freely and is corrupting basketball here in South Florida.

There's nothing amazing about it. From what the article says, all he does his throw money around like a CEO. Is he even a coach? He said he brought in a guy "to do X's and O's". Sounds like he's the GM of the team.

Plenty of coaches start with raw freshman and build them into players over time, because they have no choice.

I have no respect for the way Sagemont buys it's players, and the Sun-Sentinel has the gall to praise them as a "first class operation"? Sickening!

And the Sentinel gives them a front page story in the Sports section, like it's such a great achievement. How about an article about a team without transfers that worked hard to succeed?

Sagemont is obviously violating the recruiting rules of FHSAA. Rumor has it that the coach even has some of the players living with him from another country... No respect for teams that buy state titles.. Sagemont will not be a state champion for years and years to come.. because what happend to Arlington should happen to them..

"Now, I'm taking what it takes to run a company into coaching.": Even when running a company, stealing from other competing companies is not allowed-- in this case schools that worked hard to build-up their players, only to have money thrown at them that they have no hope of competing with.

Even someone with no inside knowledge of what went on at Sagemont can see right through this article. This is just a rich man playing games with the high school athletic system that he could not play when he did not have money. His "project" will succeed as long as fhsaa allows him to continue to recruit a broward all-star team each year.

Even someone without inside information about what has gone on at Sagemont can see right through this article. This is just the story of a rich man who could not succeed in coaching before he had money, and now that he does, enjoys dancing around fhsaa rules because he has more money than the rest of the broward coaches combined. His "project" will continue to succeed as long as the state looks the other way while he builds a broward all-star team in the lowest classification in the state.

The only thing that surprises me is that he'd want an article such as this that brings his recruiting (there is no other word for it, and it is 100% illegal) into the spotlight. This is not the word-of-mouth kind of thing, just ask the former schools of the Sagemont kids.

This article summarized: Sagemont buys new basketball program, the end.

What really bothers me is the Sun-Sentinel praising this guy, like he's a role model.

Capricorn

The detail-oriented Moon in Virgo is extremely supportive and helpful, so it feels good to know that you can count on some support. You may know just where the help is coming from, but with communicative Mercury all over transformative Pluto in your sign, maybe you're being looked after by your very own guardian angel. Don't let this encourage you to take foolish risks or overstep the mark.
