Timberwolves' late cold spell helps Hornets escape with win

Full story: TwinCities.com

At halftime of the Timberwolves' game against New Orleans on Wednesday night, Kurt Rambis told his Wolves he was proud to coach a team that played the style of basketball he appreciates - one in which the ball is moved with precision and teammates are found for open shots.

Doesn't sound like a good halftime speech to me Kurt Rambis. lol. Maybe after the game. Man that's Chris Paul over there. Jonny Flynn took his eye off of Paul. One eye on the ball, one eye on your man Jonny Flynn. Basketball 101. Rambis knows.

Before the very last futile attempt, Ryan Gomes and Flynn both took wild shots. Move the ball. You got 24 seconds man hurry it up don't get caught flat footed with the shot clock winding down. Love was open at the top of the key Jonny Flynn. Don't give me the "no time." You wanted to take that shot. And those free throws? Fellas pleeeeasssse. The Wolves are a fun team to watch that's for sure.

I noticed Love wasn't out there with five something to play. That's when I tuned in. Got lucky flipped through channels at work and there it was. The replay. I had a few minutes to kill, lets see the collapse.

The Wolves are a good team. I said good. They are. Come on. But it's all up to Jonny. I thought he went fourth he went sixth. I love Corey Brewer. Corey was mad when he missed that first free throw. Hit the second one though. The story of the night, fiddy percent from the line. The lady in red doing the after broadcast, she's good. She is. Come on.

In all fairness to Ryan Gomes I was called away and came back when he had the ball with the shot clocking winding down and he chucked up that horrible look. It was bad. I really didn't want to leave the TV but what could I do? I was at work. Excuse me, "I'm watching a replay of the Minnesota Timberwolves right now." Anyway there was time I knew I would be back for the end. Oh and what an end it was.

This team's plane could crash horrifically and I'd be happier then seeing this team continuously fail. What a flop Flynn has been compared to Jennings, he's willing his team to victory, oh, how we could use a player like him now. We always seem to pick up guys that are more complimentary pieces and not guys that take control of a game, what another waste of a Top Ten pick.

Great first half - and then they forgot how to play together. Hopefully, that ability to play an entire game straight through will come with time and maturity. We have what we have as players and constantly comparing Flynn to Jennings or anyone else isn't going to do him any good. See how much good it did for Foye.

When they are on, the Wolves look good and are really fun to watch - I guess that is what makes endings like last night so awful to watch. Still - I will be watching again on Friday.

Did you predict Jennings would turn out the way he did? Exactly. No one did. It's simple to sit back and criticize when you yourself would have probably drafted Flynn over Jennings.

they should have kept sebastian telfair for his play making abilities. these guards like to shoot way too much. and will be lucky to win 10 games this season.

Duh!!! That is what guards do, you expect them to just guard the ball! heheheh!!! Besides Flynn and Jefferson should be taking more shots than Brewer and Gomes.

For not being as talented as other teams they are starting to get interesting. I can support them as long as they play hard and can keep the games competitive and if they show promise for next year. I was suprised at how well Love has played and how the team has responded to his return.

Brandon Jennings was an unknown commodity and nobody wanted to take chance on him with an early pick and he fell into the Bucks lap. Although the Wolves did take a chance on Rick Rubio. Doh! Maybe that will work out in the end. Brave Dave wishing he was there to watch this team at home. Looks fun.
