CAVEAT EMPTOR-When I was traveling in Baja California I noticed that another condo project with Trump's name on it went defunct, costing many Americans hundreds of thoousands of dollars in lost deposits...Caveat Emptor.

I think it still is another Hotel/Condo for only those who can afford it, certainly not any of the locals.
It doesn't matter who's name on the building.

It was reported at the time by the local media when Trump won the naming rights to this complex. Any research at the time of this would have revealed it was name only. I don't see any substantial market value by having the Trump name anyway. The Donald has had his issues with real estate business in the past. Bankruptcy comes to mind...

Could it be that the properties bought are not nearly the value now as when they were purchased?

Undoubtedly. Any excuse to bail. If prices were up, would they be suing anyway? They gambled, and they lost. Now they don't want to accept that.

They were duped and now they don't want to own it. Why can't they get their deposit back? And what if they can't for whatever reason afford it now. Take it easy bloggers, you not in their "shoes"!!

We are absolutely not in the shoes of Trump Four LLC. A company with the sole purpose of buying units in the Trump Tower to later sell at a profit. It was common knowledge the Donald was not the developer, the only difference now is that people are no longer lining up to buy overpriced luxury condos in Hawaii like they were 12-18 months ago. People misread the market and are now trying to bail out on a bad investment.

These fools just wanted to flip the property for a profit. Allure next down the street can barely sell any units.
What an insult to compare Rolls Royce to Donald Trump. Trump is more like a Cadillac/GM. They both are American and went bankrupt.

It still will be the nicest building in the islands, and a welcome makeover of the ugly architecture throughout Waikiki.

I have little sympathy for these profit chasers. I'm glad I'm not in their shoes for principal's sake, but I wish I were in their shoes to be able to have this kind of problem in the first place. Tough having so much money, huh?

One does not have to go to Las Vegas to gamble. Hawaii has opportunities for you to do it, just tax it! No exemptions at the state or federal level.
