JJ isn't dejected folks. He knows that Otis & VanGundy were not gonna let him play after he did so well in Summer league, heard all of their BS about what great things he would do...then sat that year and last year.
Getting Pietrus was one of the best things that could happen and the sooner they trade him the better it will be.
I have always said that JJ needs to be in Ny or the Suns, even Mephis... he will do fine and may even be in the NBA championship game LONG before the Magic ever will.
Happy Lucky Day JJ!

I feel bad for the guy, I really do.

But he makes a hell of alot more money than me and most people. If I was making millions a year, I'd be willing to be patient, too.

What sucks is that he takes up a spot on the bench, but we don't use him. Trade him, please, make everybody happy.

It is blatantly obvious that Otis is a complete moron and 100% wasted the pick he made on Reddick. Way too many mistakes made to justify Otis still being employed as GM. Let's look back; Darko, Reddick, Vasquez, Donovan. It is very difficult to be a Magic fan, with all these amateur moves. If you are not going to use Reddick, why in the world would you draft him so high!? He is just too professional to raise a bigger stink. This is just shameful!

Please tell me how Otis was supposed to see the future? Did he know Donovan would waffle? Did he know that Vazquez would be too chicken to play in the NBA? Otis gets a lot of the blame, but believe the fact that you would not be much better at that job. Almost every GM gets a ton of heat even when they're winning. There's no making you clueless "fans" happy. The Magic have gotten better every year and isn't that the goal? You don't win a championship over night, much less build a dynasty which is what Otis wants. Yeah the Celtics won this year, but how much longer will that team stay together?

Stop crying, go out and compete and earn your job, may the best player play. If you can't crack into the rotation with the guards we had last year, you probably won't be in the NBA very much longer.....

Otis does deserve blame for the Vasquez pick. They did not even personally interview him before the draft. Would you hire an unknown quantity and pay him millions of dollars and not even conduct a face-to-face interview beforehand? That pick should have been Danny Granger.

I still have never read anywhere - any real good rational for not playing JJ more. Why would you take him #1 and then not play his *** off to see if he can make it. How does one of the top shooters in the history of the college game go on to suck enough to never get playing time??

Too bad - I'm betting he will leave the Magic and go on as so many of the former Magic have to an amazing career. I mean who would have ever thought Doc Rivers was the genius that everyone says he is now with Boston when he was here with the Magic.

The answer to why JJ doesn't play is the exact same answer to the question of why Pietrus WILL play this season:
DEFENSE.

I think every draft is a gamble. The 1st 2-3 picks are easy. It's 4-whatever that makes the difference. Picking JJ was O.K. if he developed. I think he leveled off. He'll probably go somewhere else, work his butt off and become a decent player....or not. The Magic can't wait.

I just feel soo bad for JJ. But i'm still optimistic.

I think Cook/Bogans/Augustine will be on a trading block and hopefully JJ will not be included.

JJ could be and instant offense off the bench for us!

I hope!! lol

i gotta admit austin is right jj doesnt have defense. but you know in some instances if he's traded he might become better but seeing that the position he play's has so much talent i dont think he'll sratch any rotations unless its okc, clips or memphis.

Suck it up for another year! Go overseas for a couple years then make a comeback in the nba. He acts like he's not getting paid to sit on the bench. I can't feel sorrry for someone gettings a few mill to be a cheerleader.

Otis Smith is the worst GM in the league. How is it that we hire guys like Gabriel, Wiesbroad and Otis Smith. I'll tell you.. Owners that have lots of money and absolutley no
knowledge about anything other than selling soap products in a pyramid scheme. Devos and Vanderwiede are to blame for all of the horrible decisions that have been made all the way back to Shaq leaving.

Leave it to Otis Smith to blow another draft, sign the wrong free agent and tell us how happy he is with the team. I wish anyone would step up and buy the magic from the clowns that have it now. I would fire Smith, Vangundy and Vanderweide on the first day. They are the worst.

Should have traded him on draft night for a 2nd rounder. Now all you may get is cash from someone like Memphis or Houston.
As for Otis, "no comment", He seems to be too slow in taking action with Free Agents or Teams looking to shed decent players for CASH.
We need another #4,#5 Backup. Why go for Jason Williams when Darryl Armstrong is available if Defense is the Theme??????????

It's idiots like you that were complaining when the Magic chose Howard over Okafor. It's all about gambles and risks. There are no "sure things" in professional sports jerkass. An assclown like you would not know what to do if put in the GM chair. These guys have been around basketball their whole lives, they know what's going on. Just because you played a few pickup games and memorized the stats on the back of some basketball cards does not make you an expert. Go run a few laps fatty.

Long enough to let Detroit regroup and for a couple of other teams to develop, while the hapless, misled Magic stumble out of the first round, again and again and ...

How long will DeVos put up with "I'M LOST, FOLLOW ME" as a management slogan?

As your Mayor, I've got to admit that even I think Otis is a tool. Sorry, but that's the way it is. I'm klinda sorry we hrew so much cash behind a team that employs such a loser.
