i agree with you. I've watched the pacers for years. Up until lately. I don't need that kind of drama. I see it on the streets everyday.

I dont blame JT wrote:
I think it is ridiculous that we are blaming the victim here. It is JT's fault that he was shot at because he was out at 3 am? Would we "forgive" him if he was shot at at 3 pm instead? This is not unlike blaming a rape victim for wearing suggestive clothing - ridiculous. It seems like we have some folks that are jealous of his success, and he should stay at home where he belongs - smacks of racism as well. If Jeff Foster was shot at at 3 am, would we be blaming him for being out?
Yes, in my opinion, if Jeff Foster had been in the news two times for unlawful behavior, and then another time for a shooting incident, then I would also call him a poor role model. I, personally, do not see race here. I cannot speak for the other posters.

You (or whoever the original poster was) said "HOW MANY FELONIES" does a person have to be charged with, as if to imply he's been charged with more than one. To my knowledge, 8 Second Saloon is the only one. If that's all you meant, it was just a poor choice of wording.

Obviously, you can cannot comprehend what you read. You are praising the Pacers for their standing at the moment to counter the deserved negative press they are getting. I was just pointing out that 12th place is not something to be proud of no matter where they finished last year.
Besides if the Colts lose, it will be in the PLAYOFFS. they also have a track record of character players reaching goals and being something community can be proud of. It isn't just the winning, it's also HOW you win.
When the Pacers make the playoffs (it is hard not to in the NBA but they manage don't they?) then tell us all how in spite of the lack character from it's players they still managed to achieve the mediocrity of an 8th seed.
You're impossible. You're essentially saying if the Colts make the playoffs and lose, it's ok. But if the Pacers make the playoffs and lose, it's not acceptable. I guess that's the difference between being a casual fan (90% of the people here) and a die-hard fan. I could give you a detailed breakdown of each player's game and how/why it fits/doesn't fit in certain systems but I won't do that here because I know no one cares. All you guys want is a team you can sit in the stands for and wave your towels around to shout "my team is better than yours!" And if that's all you want out of your team, that's fine. I prefer to take a much more in-depth, analytical approach.

I think passing judgement based on the establishments they patronize is not the call here. I do think it all boils down to personal adult growth, better decision making inkeeping with their professional status, and the way in which one conducts their personal life and friendships. Race has nothing to do with the problem. Immaturity does.....as we have seen with many celebrity's in the news over many months men and women alike; black and white alike.
I was actually engaging a person who was lumping Jermaine O'Neal into the same category as Jamaal Tinsley and other players who've had run-ins with the law (or a history of gun violence).

I was refuting someone's claim that O'Neal is a "thug" (a term I'm learning to loathe more and more) because he opened a club in Broad Ripple. Said person was essentially making up stuff to call out O'Neal as a bad seed, which is not true. Aside from the brawl in Detroit, he's been in no sort of trouble.

I am so sadden that this city is so cold hearted. Mr.Tinsley was almost killed and the people in this city want him to be punished. First of all he is a grown man.He has the right to go anywhere he chooses. Second of all there people out here want to kill for any reason..Indy Wake up!!! You people can't be that stupid!!!.HATERS everywhere, black and white..
I can't say I blame the fans for their exasperation. If this were an isolated incident--meaning, if Tinsley had no prior history of any trouble, any guns, etc.--I think more fans would give him a break.

Then again, that makes me wonder. The cynic in me also makes me think fans would immediately call him a thug even in that scenario.

It's a foolish notion to go on some sort of boycott over this situation. It really is. You're being arbitrary and petty in holding the entire organization accountable for Jamaal Tinsley's actions. The Pacers, as a team and as an organization, do many good things in the community: education and literacy, health and fitness, etc.

If you're going to be so quick to judge an entire organization, you owe it to them to at least measure the negatives against the positives.

I agree with the previous response. SE7EN is the problem in Broad Ripple now. This is not a racist statement, though you may consider it "culturist". The element that now frequents the bars and clubs in BR have to portray different attitudes to impress theie thug buddies (whites can be thugs too- plenty of them wear their pants down around their ankles while speaking ebonics). The frat boys and college kids that previously outnumbered others in BR were not packing heat and shoving guns in people's faces while they walked home. Check out http://imaps.indygov.org/cvc/wizard.asp You can search for yourself how many armed robberies and attacks there have been in the area on the map. These are not frat boys, they are thugs and wannabes.
But what you're doing is immediately drawing a correlation between crime and Jermaine O'Neal's club in Broad Ripple. Crime existed in Broad Ripple long before Se7en opened.

Your logic is flawed and inaccurate, to say nothing of your tacit prejudice which is peppered throughout your statement.

You're a jacka$$ Bernard P Fife. The second ammendment gives you the right to fire back when someone shoots at you with an assult rifle. Instead of whining about the guy that fired in self-defense, why don't you get hot and bothered over the human feces that was carrying the assult rifle? Now that's a gun control topic that maybe we can all agree on - does anybody really need to be carrying an assult rifle around town?
Wrong. The Second Amendment does NOT give you the right to fire back. The Second Amendment says a militia is necessary to the security of a free State...and prohibits infringement of the right of the people to keep and bear arms.

That is a far cry from chasing after someone who shot at you just so you can return fire.

No one wants to become famous for a post. C'mon bud, lighten up a little. The point is that this has been going on for quite a while with the Pacers and it is time for a change. By the way, what makes it clear that I have no life as I am doing the same thing you are doing, writing and commenting on a post? Also, if you are going to tell me not to criticize people and their post, at least spell your critical remarks correctly. Thanks!

a simon employee would be terminated for such action..........it's time for herb or david to speak up and terminate the contract immediately.
And what "action" did Jamaal commit in this sequence of events that would warrant dissolution of a legally binding contract? Last time I checked, being out late wasn't against the law. There is no evidence that Jamaal did anything illegal here. If the Simons attempted to dissolve his contract after he committed no illegalities, the NBA Players' Union would win a pretty hefty judgement from the Federal Labor authorities.

Mr. Tinsley can take his comments and stick them. If he hasn't learned before then he never will, and it pains me even more to see the organization standing by this criminal behavior. You certainly don't reward a child for bad behavior, so what gives? My Pacers apparel will continue to sit in a dark corner of my closet until things change, and it looks like that will be a very long time. As long as this thuggery continues I will not attend a single game or waste my time watching them. Are you listening Mr. Simon?!!!
Would you mind pointing out to me the "criminal" acts Tinsley specifically committed here? Not acts by his brother, mind you. What did Tinsley do in this instance that violated ANY law on the books?

Well stated. No matter how much people angrily deny it, racial issues ARE playing a part of the discontent here.

What do you think would be the reaction on this board if Tinsley's house was burned down like Reggie's was?

The reality is Tinsley didn't do anything against the law. The Pacers decided not to punish him, so were back to square one. Any person that would risk their life & career at some stupid Club is not wise.
