Don't take it, what ever happend to Jeffersonian democracy and state rights. We are a Republic and suppose to have 50 self-sustaining state governments. The states should not take nor should they seek federal bailout.

The only governors who don't want the stimulus money are from southern redneck states. They don't want the money because they don't want to have to help black families.

I suppose there are those who believe that this stimulus package will make things better, but at the same what is the cost of doing business with the federal government on this?

For far to long, the federal government has been dictating to states what they have to do, when in reality it should be just the opposite, if the constitution is to be upheld.

In most cases it is not the state treasuries that have broke the bank, but the federal treasury, and the federal lawmakers, who have enacted so many foolish laws, and laws that have to be upheld by the states, at state expense.

Many of the these governors and their states are between a rock and a hard place. A damned if you do, and a damned if you don't scenario. Especially now that so many states are exercising their sovereign rights under the 10th amendment. How this all plays out, may well forecast the future of our Republic.

It may be the states use of states rights that has to be used to rein in the federal government. Whats happens over the next few months could affect the US for years if not decades to come.

Peel off anything in the stimulus that causes an influx of more unemployed, uninsured to enter the State. Adhere to state policies, not federal policies.

Let these people move to other states to receive this money and stay in that new state.

Clear your state of deadbeats who will continue to suck the taxpayers money.

Illegal Aliens ?? I bet this bill has a bundle in it for them ! After all the President and the DEMOCRATS made sure E-VERIFY was killed in this bill to pave the way for ILLEGAL ALIENS to reap the benefits !!! And you can take THAT to the bank !!!!!

Because their loyalty is to their Republican party, and never mind the people in their state who elected them. They have turned their backs anyone who is not a member of their corrupt, elite form of government. Thank heaven this country stopped them in time before they totally wiped us out. No more Replubgestapo.

Pawlenty recommends borrowing money to deal with Minnesota's budget deficit (higher than California's on a per capita basis) while telling Fox news how wrong it is for the feds to continue borrowing money.

Which way do you want it Tim Pawlenty?

He's just another borrow-and-spend, cheat-and-retreat neo-con who sucked a bunch of people into believing he did them a favor by holding the line on income taxes while driving their property taxes through the roof.

TYPICAL.

Please do not take it.

Let the Republicans explain to the people in those states why they see no end to the Bush recession/depression as the Stimulus Package has help the other states that accepted it be well on the road to recovery.

Florida will be more that happy to use the brilliance of President Obama bring our state out of this ditch that Republican policies got us into.

The Federal Government has become the very entity that our forefathers feared. Overreaching, off mission, can't even do what is is missioned to do correctly if at all, intrusive, overbearing, arrogant, slow moving, inefficient, inaccurate, self serving, and has developed a sense of entitlement for its so called public servants.

Didn't we raise an army (a well regulated militia...2nd amendment) to free ourselves of this the first time around?
