Then if you're going to go by number of ships won, the Celtics are the best in the east and over the west too.
I didn't mean to infer franchise 'ships. I meant this year - they do have the best record so far. But, you have to go all the way.

As would Orlando then. Right?
The East is going to be exciting this year. As the conference standings dictate now, Cavs would play Toronto, while Magic would play Charlotte.

Agree - the East will be exciting this year. Cleveland and Orlando, in that order, are top notch clubs. Cavs. clearly have the edge.

Cavs.- Lakers finals should be exciting, as well.

Nothing is for sure, even if your team has an excellent season, they can still run into that wall in the post season.
I agree about your top 2. Celtics are slowing down or else they're playing possum. lol I sometimes think the Lakers are playing possum too.
Well, Cavs may have the edge in that they truly are 15 deep.
Glad I got an Orlando fan that I can chat with. My questions for you : Happy with Vince Carter? and Were you happy about trading Turk away?

Interesting that you bring up playing possum. I don't think they are, but I would say the Lakers gave up on catching the Cavs a while ago. I feel really good about the Cavs getting to the finals this year, but now I'm not so sure about the West. The Lakers aren't playing their best ball and the Nuggets have been a mess lately. It's possible that the Cavs might play the Mavs this year. The similarities in names would be annoying. "Who are you rooting for? What? Who won last night?"

I feel, personally, that Dallas is the big threat out of the West. They traded well and since have taken over the #2 spot in the West. They beat Denver last night, while Utah barely got past the Knicks. Cavs have played Mavs winning both games, however, that was early in the season. Mavs are "new and improved" and Cavs have yet to play this new team, nor will they, until the post possibly.
If I had to pick a dark horse in the West, OKC would be it.

Not sure I buy into this "they can still run into that wall in the post season" argument. To me that means, well, we weren't as good against good teams as we thought we were. Now, if you lose a key player, all bets are off.

A championship team can beat anyone in their league in a 7-game series.

Right now, I'd say the Cavs. are the class of the NBA and the Lakers, Denver, and Orlando a close second.

Regular season games and playoff games are not the same. Last year we thought Cavs were going all the way because of their regular season record and look what happened..... a wall.
So, don't go by the wins they're racking up, because they did lose to the Spurs and the Bucks this month and I never thought that was going to happen.

See, it's not so much hitting the wall last year as it was the Magic catching absolute fire. I mean, they were hitting everything and we couldn't find an answer for it because there is no answer to stop people hitting their shots. If they didn't catch fire, we would be champs right now. It's just unfortunate.
