mark jackson is a bad choice...he has no experience in coaching...what are they going to do...give out a 3-5 yr. contact to him...only to find-out he isn't any good at coaching...people got sick of jackson antic's when he was playing for the knicks...a leopard doesn't change his spots...ewing is the choice...he's paid his dues and has the motivation to bring a championship back to new york...ewing is the clear choice to coach the knicks.

Jeff Van Gundy? Didn't he bail on us a little less than 20 games into a season?

I agree with you about Jackson not being the right choice, but why aren't you using the same logic to determine Ewing isn't the right choice, either. Like Jackson, he has no experience as a head coach.
If ever there was a team in dire need of an experienced hand, an iron hand at that, it's the Knicks. The new coach is going to be faced with the unpleasant business of getting overpaid, out-of-shape, lazy sorts like Eddy Curry to start earning their paychecks. Curry isn't the only one, but he's a king-sized monument to everything wrong with this team. He even moves like a monument. No defense, no rebounds, no hustle. He's Benoit Bemjamin with better PR.
I'm all for Ewing coming in and perhaps waking Curry from his career-long slumber, but only as an assistant coach. They need a guy like Sam Mitchell, a no-nonsense type who will be as nauseated as the fans are about the lack of pride and professionalism among the players on this roster.
Walsh cannot afford to be wrong with this choice, because we're talking about a longterm coaching contract here. The Knicks already are the record-holders for having ex-coaches still collecting paychecks.
