I think that Kahn prefers the "perception" of a process. Just like when he got rid of McHale. Did anyone really think that he was going to keep him? But, he wanted it to look like he put a lot of thought into it, so he let it drag out for weeks.

As far as the coaching search, interviewing goobers like Monty Williams and Elston Turner is just for show. My guess is he had business in those cities, and he decided to make it look good.

The reality is that Mark Jackson has been his guy from day 1. He's simply trying to hide that fact, in order to avoid being criticized for hiring somebody he knows too quickly.

What is the Wolves fascination with Jackson. Has he ever even been an assistant coach anywhere? I hope they know what they are doing.

Mitchell would not be a good fit for this team. First, he's a disciplinarian. That doesn't work well with young rosters. Remember, Wittman tried that approach and alienated the whole team. Second, Mitchell wouldn't want the job. He's a former coach of the year, and this team is years away from competing.

There's no coach worth his salt that would take over this franchise at this point. Kahn realizes this, and he is going to go with a young coach who is a former player that can connect with the youth movement on this team. I don't feel that there are many people who believe that this coach will last more than 2-3 seasons. So, he wants to find young and hungry guys who want to leverage this experience for another opportunity down the road.

It should be fairly easy to find Antione Walker -- just paint a three point line, put a basketball several feet behind it, and have three defenders standing there. He won't be able to pass that up!
