Good, we needed a veteran back up big man. Nobody complain about this. His only job is to use 4-5 of his fouls, get a few point and rebounds while D-12 rests. He just needs to check in the game for 10 minutes and be a big body in the lane. One thumb up to Otis

TWO thumbs down for Otis! Anybody can foul, even rookies, in this league. The one thing Foyle cannot do anymore is to DEFEND. He's too slow and no one is intimidated by him. He's like a sorry version of Shaq. Just because you are a veteran doesn't make you an effective player. Otis is just cuddling his buddies from yesteryear. Money gone to waste!!!

eh! Brian Skinner would have been nicer. So as josh powell, magloire, etc.. we needed a bigger, tougher body out there! I really do hope that otis is exploring trade scenarios right about now. Our roster looks good and could compete in the East but in all honesty, it probably won't be enough!

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Please hold off on the "Otis is a fool" talk UNTIL we see the final roster. There are still moves to be made.

Watch the excitement as people talk about 3rd string centers, PG, and a 4th string SG. WOW

Foyle is really good, I was pretty upset he lost playoff minutes to the faster Gortat but he's definetly still valuable as SVG and Otis resign him. He can hold his own in playoff situations and be consistent, he has some nice post-up moves too.

Yea.. I don't think we're at final roster yet. We still have too many SG's and the Free Agent market has come down to few quality guards; in fact, Arroyo is one of the best guards availible right now and if ORL deemed him inadequate is because they want a better one or a younger, better defending PG. So I'm going to assume they still want to do a sign and trade and that can be done slowly and carefully.

Just like somebody said in one of the other blogs referencing in Hoopworld that Orlando was inquiring about Crittenton and they said the ball was in Orlando's hands. Bringing me to believe that it is possible to aquire that 3rd PG. The question is whether Otis is trying Otis is feeling the deal out...trying to make sure he's not outbidding himself.

The magic are in desperate need of a point guard. That is what it takes to compete in the league, not a 4th string center. Tony Battie is coming back to be the center that we need in the front court, and Dwight Howard will be freed up to be the dominant big man that he is. Foyle is a liability out there. 4-5 fouls is about all he contributed last season, and that's why he got benched.

a bigger, blacker version of pat garrity with no outside shot. Only good thing about Foyle is he has 6 fouls to dole out.

I agree...any time this guy gets on the court is just taking time away from gortat, who really needs the experience if he's going to develop.

How much did Foyle make last year? If this is less, then its good b/c they would have resigned him if he had wanted to at the time. Now we need another PG and we should be good.

Foyle continues to demonstrate the transformative effect of a higher education to the Magic players, coaches and management. Without Foyle and JJ the average IQ is well down in to the double digits. This includes the bloggers and especially the Sentinel sports writers.
The team still needs a starting PG and PF.
Otis is an idiot. To refer to him as a clown is an unearned promotion and an insult to real clowns everywhere.

All I have to say is: why? WHY? WHY? Oh why? Well, I think the reason is because Otis Smith is not perfect and is acting deluded. He cares about team chemistry so much (as opposed to talent), but didn't resign Keyon Dooling (our best bench and most energetic player) who has extremely close relationships with Howard and Nelson and pretty much everyone else on the team. And what about getting Jason Williams who wants to come here. Oh yeah, I forgot. We got Anthony Johnson instead. Great plan! Our main priorities for the off-season were to get a backup point guard and a physical shooting guard. We have failed in both regards. While we're at it, lets trade Dwight and bring back Shaq!

Start making room for the Championship Trophy now!!! WOOOOOOO!!!! The missing piece... Adonal Foyle! Thank God we re-signed this integral team member.
Hey, I respect Adonal as a man... he's a class act, intelligent guy. But if he were any slower, he'd be running backwards.

ohhh my gosh. you guys are all jokes for magic fans. bashing otis at every turn. as soon as otis smith came in we have gradually improved. just because we're not signing big names in every move doesn't mean the team will be any less then what it was. he has mad very few mistakes(ie bidding against himself) i'll admit but as long as he keeps bringing us winning seasons he will have my support.
