Ya the magic have felt this whenever they had a good team. It comes with having a dominant big man. this year, we are lucky enough to have a top 10 center as backup. Its key to resign Gortat and have him as a piece to a championship.

As a season ticket holder I can't believe how bad the refs are in letting Howard get beat up. The older grey haired refs are the worst. It's time to get rid of the old refs and replace them with high school refs. Just touch Kobe and you get a foul. Paul Pierce shoots shots underneath by jumping into people to get fouls. Defenders smack Howard's arms and hands on shots and nothing gets called. All defenders hold Howard on rebounds and nothing gets called. Fire the old refs.

The refs in the NBA have been the worse out of all the leagues for years... this is no surprise, it is a tough game to official
But maybe it is just me, but I still do not trust these guys because of Donahey (Donahue, Donamadonna) I do not remember how to spell it. Bottomline is the refs affect the outcome of the game more than any other sport.

He just needs to keep his mouth shut and keep playing. All this whining to the ref's does nothing back piss them off even more. It is hard to officiate the big fella, but he needs to keep his wits about him.

Matt and SentinelBlather, I could agree more. The refs are the worst of all sports and they have a series impact on the outcome of the games.
The NBA does need to look into replacing them and/or holding them up to different standards.
If you noticed too, the ref's misses on average of about 2-3 out of bounds calls a game. By that I mean, balls that go off of people and what not.

Agreed O-Magic and Aron. What Howard needs to do is when he gets fouled on the offensive he needs to deliver some pain after he gets fouled. Maybe like swinging his arms and smack someone in the mouth. By doing that he can also affect the outcome of games to a degree. Then defenders will just leave him alone and let him dunk. Now you got guys like Tyrus Thomas grabbing him completely. D12 whack a couple guys in the grill and I promise you they'll learn to leave you alone some.

To be honest I'm surprised he hasn't started to do this by now. Take a page from Shaq's book at least. Shoot in the Piston game, toward the end of it, I remember Dwight smiling as he was getting helped up off the floor. Then he missed two free throws that could have gotten the game close. Anyway he defiantly needs to start swinging his elbows more after he gets the rebound down low. Maybe do it "NBA JAM" style. Yawl remember that game right?

Dwight's constant whining and complaining to the refs during the games plays a large part, no doubt.

Dwight should immediately pass the ball to JJ as soon as he gets it. Then accidently throw an elbow to the head of the nearest ref, knocking him out. As this takes place JJ wil have hit the 3 and the Magic will be a better team for Dwight's efforts to eliminate the crooked, gambling refs of the NBA. The more he knocks out the fewer fouls will be called on him. I like it! :)

They are never consistent and about 35% of the time they are wrong in their calls.

Why don't both teams save their energy and proclaim before the game that they disagree with every call and non call. The NBA needs to do something before it ruins the game.

I do agree that all these guys complain to much to the refs, but D12 is nowhere near the worst offender. Ever see how LBJ or Kobe or CP3 or D Wade... I could go on for a while here... Compared to most of the NBA he is pretty good. Also, most of the times he is right!! Most players are complaining about not "getting" the call when there is not a foul and D12 has to put up with someone impersonating an ultimate fighter and not getting the call! Like I said, all NBA players complain to much, but at least he has a reason. How about calling other, more deserving players for this one.

By that I mean, balls that go off of people and what not. And if you complain to the NBA office, it's like water off a duck's back. And if anyone even hints that the refs are lousy, the NBA office fines everyone that even blinks. The problem is that we complain about it and then don't do anything that would grab the attention of the brass to take a look at this. Sadly we are still watching and going to games, even with the terrible inconsistent calls. Then perhaps Howard could consider throwing the ball out to the open man once in a while. The reason is that there are too many people trying to cover him and he fouls someone when 3 guys are standing out on the 3 point line wide open. Quit pouting because you aren't getting enough points or rebounds - it's a TEAM game. And finally when Howard does get a foul, Howard doesn't have to do anything. Turn around and set up on the foul lane or go to the other end. No throwing up your hands in a "Why Me" manner. No looking at the ref in disdain. Just play basketball and perhaps the referees would consider Howard more fairly. It is only human to try to get even if someone is continually putting you down.

I dont mind when Howard gets a T because usually I am tossing curse words at my TV after some of the calls against him... the suprising thing is how does he get so many Ts when he doesnt even curse..... Refs are really treating him wrong lately just another example of how Orlando gets no respect.....
