I like the idea of playing them more together in these final weeks and get them ready for it in the playoffs. We definately need to keep Marcin here next year.

SVG and Otis need to look at Dwight and Marcin starting together so that they and the rest of the starters can build on their chemistry.

Turk off the bench would play out nicely. It would give the Magic a proven scorer off the bench and move Rashard back to his natural position.

Marcin is a very active guy who could play the Charles Oakley / Bill Lambier role for us. I am not implying he is as skilled as either one of those players but Gorat has a tremendous upside to his game.

Re-signing Marcin needs to be a top 2 priority for Otis. Right behind a sign and trade moving Turk/JJ/1st Round Pick for Carlos Boozer.

Believe me it could work.

This is somebody that we want to resign, because hes still young and with potential. He has the 2nd highest rebounding rate in league behind Dwight. It was good to mix it up, and I think this can really work but need to try it more in practice and games, not just 2 times and now we're done with it.

Yea wow i called my neighbor Otis up when i seen Marcin come in and Dwight stay in also. He was outa his trailer in a flash,(he doesn't have a tv). We gave a cheer and opened a beer when he made a 2 pointer. He wants to go watch Orlando play if they make it to the World Series, told him i'd want to tag along too.

We lost the Pistons game because JJ Reddick was left to guard Rip Hamilton in the 4th quarter instead of Courtney Lee

Stan Van, you gotta be kidding me.....at least you deceide to insert him before this years playoffs....I mean last year the dude didn't play a lick, and here he is getting serious minutes in the playoffs. What ever happen to Tony Battie? This dude is the meanest player on the team, the only dude who will fight back against the Pistons, and he's stuck on the bench.

Is now really the time to experiment? If this was your plan all along maybe this should have happended during the first 60 games. Battie trumps Gortat any day of the week, geez, am I the only one that see's this? My only hope is that Stan Van is resting Tony for extensive playoff minutes, lets just hope he is not too rusty from sitting next to Tyron.

Honolulu,

If Boozer is not the anwser then we need someone like him. A player that can be a second inside scoring option that is a tough interior defender.

Being able to swing the ball from either side of the post to perimiter players would confuse defences.

I am a huge fan of Turk and JJ but Rashard at the small forward pays huge dividends for the Magic. JJ is expendable with the inevitable rise of Courtney Lee

I dont mind seeing Gortat get big minutes. I wouldnt mind seeing Battie in there either. We need a big lineup vs Boston and Detroit should we play them in the playoffs. It takes rebounding pressure off of Dwight and brings added interior defense. Battie I think would be a better option because he can hit that 16 to 18 foot jumper consistantly but Gortat is a bigger body and a slightly better rebounder. Whatever lineup works, doesnt matter to me.

On a side note, it did seem SVG was just trying different lineups at the end of that detroit game. I dont understand it, maybe he was just seeing if those guys could come through in the clutch but coming down the stretch running a pick and roll JJ to Gortat isnt exactly the play youre looking for. Gortat blamed himself for the loss so maybe he will work that much harder to make sure he is ready to make the play next time the ball comes his way in a pressure situation.

if boozer came to the magic (and we could afford him) for only turk and JJ ... start making plans to go to the parade down orange avenue for teh magic ... it would be over for everyone at that point. A go to player who is clutch, a brusier, hits free throws, can score and defend and we keep everone else.

All you people calling for a trade for Boozer need to understand one thing, the guys is 6'9", cant jump, and is an average defender at best. Yes he can score and rebound, but thats it.

VanGundy has NO Idea what he is going to do for the playoffs...h-e-ll he cant figure out how to win a close game.
It's about time you guys wake up and see just what a loser at coaching this twerp is.
Gortat will get all of Otis' lies and hopefully he doesnt fall for them. His agent can get him a decent contract in the league. Gortat, Lee, Redick dont belong on the Magic. They hustle, want to win and care about winning. All 3 need to get away from this wussie team with a coach that loves to see 3's bombed everynight and loves to watch StoneHands Howard miss the important shots and turnover the ball in the clutch

Maybe after the Pistons get rid of the Magic again this year the Owners will say... "I wonder how soon the league will give us another $11 mil loan?"

I hope that SVG continues to work with the twin towers idea of Howard and Gortat. There have been too many games where the Magic has gotten totally beaten up on the boards. Using the twin towers might help to alleviate this problem, especially now that we are on the last stages of the season where opposing teams have made the adjustment to defending the 3 pt. offense(plus tired players who aren't shooting as well overall)and helps to put a plan in place for next season if Turk. still chooses to go free agent and the Magic go with signing Gortat over Turk. as the main off-season priority(which is the most likely scenario, given the Magic's financial problems). I would start Howard, Gortat, Lewis, Lee and Alston and bring in Turk. off the bench to close out the 2cnd and 4th quarters with the status quo line-up(better free throw shooting).

Now is exactly the time to experiment with our lineup. Playing Gortat against Detroit was a good move. If we would've won that game all of you would be praising SVG. Well we almost pulled it off if it weren't for some stupid mistakes at the end. Detroit still won but at least we know we can hang with them. Battie is solid and we know what he's gonna bring. SVG is doing what he can with a group of guys that occasionally play great!

Talk about LMAO.

The Magic are 8-2 in games decided by 3 points or less and are 2-0 in overtime. Seeing as that is actually a higher percentage than the overall season record on both counts, I don't think winning close games are the problem.

Try again.
