This Gortat contract talk feels just like the Ben Wallace situation a few years back. I always resented the Magic for not figuring out a way to keep Wallace. He had the raw talent, yet unrefined, but you knew he was going to be good. Gortat is exactly the same. I hope the Magic don't make the same mistake again and let another great player get away. I loved that pose after he dunked on Dalembert! Ha ha!! I bet we'll see more of the twin towers on the floor together as the playoffs progress. What time is it?

Well at the time we lost Wallace we were in wide open talks with Tim Duncan and Grant Hill trying to get them to come here. We would have gotten to Wallace but Detroit dangled some money his way and he took it and left.

Detroit has the money now to go after Gortat like they did Wallace at the time. Hopefully the Magic move quickly and get him resigned.

JJ had his one good game, but he will return to his usual bad streaky self again. He's never consistant for more than a couple of games... except consistantly shooting bad and letting guys blow past him on the defense. Don't expect anything out of JJ for the first 3-4 games of the next series, if not 5-6 games. I'll be glad to see him go next year.

I would like to see the Magic resign Gortat also, but it will depend on what he is asking. Also need to consider that several players will be done with contracts, so the Magic have to spend money on more bench players this summer as well. At least Brian Cook's, Adonal Foyle's and Tyronn Lue's contracts are off the payroll. If Hedo opts out and goes elsewhere, we should be able to shore up the bench nicely for next year.

that should be 're-signed'... not resign.

Haven't seen any comments, but Dalembert clearly threw an elbow at Hedo's head and connected as much or more than Dwight did. He should be suspended for the 1st game of next season. The hack intentionally fouled the whole series.

It amazes me the amount of intentional fouls that are never called as such. No play on the ball, whatsoever. Dwight deserved his suspension, but he has to be frustrated by the double arm rakes he gets every other possession. I'm sure nothing will happen to Rondo.

Even with all those contracts gone the Magic are going to be at or near the Cap top. I think Gortat wants playing time more than anything, that is what ultimatelly make him sign with another team. He could start for a team in need of a center. There are many teams he can start for and get simillar money. So don't espect him to be back next year.

Rondo did throw a punch, elbow whatever, you can see it in that video jim posted and I saw it last night in the replay and nevermind throwing a punch he threw an opposing player into the scorers table. He could have hurt kirk or anyone sitting behind the table. Rondo should have been thrown out of the game on the spot and should be suspended for the next game. But he wasnt and he wont be because the league kisses bostons a s s.

With all that said I would almost rather have rondo playing from a viewer standpoint, that series has been awesome thus far and hopefully the game will be great tomorrow and hopefully the bulls prevail even though i think they are longshots but with the way the series has been going anything can happen.

With all of Hedo's contributions to the Magic the last 6 years, I still think he's a turnover machine. Makes lousy plays and doesn't give a 100% each time. If we could do a sign and trade for Boozer I'd do that in a heartbeat....

Yess, finally Magic played its own game, fast & furious !... ball movement was great on the offense nice 3`s all the game, everybody helped each other on the defensive end. I think SVG should find a way for Magic to play like this with D12 as well ! Now Gortat has his confidence and i think Tony Battie should play more minutes..
Great teams bond each other in these hard times and Magic showed this, great character for this team....

Assuming we can get past Boston, which is not a foregone conclusion, lets just say things got a little tougher for the Orlando Magic to say the least.
