I like stan and wish the best for him. You still have to do your homework and make adjustments from the game film. I hope he finds the play we ran tonight that could put them to bed early. Better spacing and quicker, accurate ball movement to the open man, with the right players cutting and setting screens will open up the 3 ball or Dwight inside. Dont let Philly force their scheme on us, use it against them.
On defense the Magic need to close out faster on the long ball and jump shots while being ready to crash the boards and boxing out better to stop the second/ third chance points. I dont agree on how we defend the pick and roll, we keep leaving the roll open for wide open shots or slash to the whole. If the 5 sets the pick, our 5 needs to come up faster to show, while our player getting picked need to face up on the man setting the pick and impede his slash to the basket. GO MAGIC.

From the SVG's Book of Great Coaching...

Put JJ in we lose.

Keep JJ on the bench, we win.

What would you do?

Gud article, still I think Marcin had it right in some of what he said and SVG has to take constructive critism if he wants to be praised as a winning coach. Overall a much better article than others today on sentinel.

Actually, all I saw was a drastically underacheiving Magic team eek out a win against a .500 team of misfits.

We should be crushing Philadelphia. They have absolutely no one who can match up on Dwight Howard, bad officiating or not. I understand the dynamic is different with a center, but has bad officiating ever taken Lebron or DWade out of a contest? True champions find ways to get it done no matter what.

Not that Hedo and Rashard have ever been the most intense competitors, but it seems like they slept thru games 1 and 2.

Courtney Lee is playing at the level we need everyone to play at. And he is very much alone there. The effort we gave last night won't get it done against Cleveland.

Yes the Magic won last night, but there is no cause for celebration. I may fall into the finicky fan club but with the exception of Courtney Lee picking up the slack, last night's game was a W but not much more than that. If the Magic continue to blow huge leads late in the game and let teams get back in it (like they've been doing all year in the 2nd half) they're not going far in the playoffs. Courtney Lee should run for mayor.

Thank you for this article Bianchi. Your boy Wilbon on PTI has been KILLING SVG lately for no good reason. Everyone notices when he makes a negative comment about Howard, but nobody notices when he praises the hell out of him after he's done something right. QUITE HATING ON SCG PEOPLE...HE"S EXACTLY WHAT THIS SOFT A$$ TEAM NEEDS.

The Magic do need to step it up like C. Lee.

Any Championship Team in the past carried a swagger that is visible in body language. The extra hustle to the ball, bumpin your man off of you, the street skills that make you tough along w/ fundamentals and speed = Championship. Way to go Stan!

Rashard showing signs of stepping up but Hedo's still got a ball and chain on his ankles.

"Our education system is bankrupt, our real estate market is in the tank, but, hey, the Magic are tied 1-all with the Sixers."
STFU, Mike.
If you didn't have sports to write about you'd have to get a real job.
