Full story: Chicago Tribune

Tied for seventh place but now with a three-game lead for eighth and just five to play, it's time to begin glancing at how the Bulls match up against their three potential first-round playoff opponents.

The Bulls will be a good home team in the playoff against any team. The main thing that the Bulls can do is play great D in the stretch. We need leadership. Ben Gordon must hit his shots or make a good pass. Go Bulls.

I think the Bulls match up best with Orlando. They are still the most inexperienced team if comparing them to the Cavs and Celtics. The Magic are still heavily reliant on their outside shooting which could benefit the Bulls if they continue to throw up 3 point shots. If the Bulls were to be successful, we must attack Josh Howard constantly, trying to draw fouls on him early in the game. On defense, the guards need to do a much better job fighting through screens and not leaving their shooters open for uncontested three point shots.

Chicago has no chance to win a first round series against any of these teams unless Rose, Salmons, and Gordon go absolutely insane (offensively). Boston they have no chance. Period. Cleveland. Nada. Orlando.. it would have to be as I said the big three going off, and the Bulls employing the Hack-A-Howard strategy to the hilt. Bulls would also have to shock the world and play D like they did against Miami in their last meeting. Really, the odds are far even beating the Magic, but hopefully will see some victories, and if the Bulls win two games, that would be fun to watch. Noah and Thomas need to bring it every game. And Derrick needs a crash course in staying tight on his man and steering him to the middle because god knows he won't get any help playig off his man. Go Bulls.

They do not win 4 of 7 against any of these teams. A good showing, given the competition, would be to win 2 games and then wait until next year.

The reason the Bulls have a legitimate chance in the first round is because there are no dominant teams in the east. The Cavs have the best record but are 3 - 6 against: Boston, Lakers, Orlando, San Antonio on the road. The Cavs are dominant at home. The Celts are banged up, and without a healthy KG, and Orlando is 3 pt happy. The Bulls have a shot at any of those teams.

Let the insanity begin. Rose has a full season under his belt and is a winner. Gordon is looking at $ signs, if he has a good playoffs, he will be offered a large contract. Salmons will be matched against an allstar no matter who the Bulls play, and will rise to the challenge.

Ultimately, there is only one successful team, and that is the Champion. Who in your opinion has a chance to win the title? What would be embarrassing is if the team didn't make the playoffs with the #1 draft pick. The team will build on this experience, hopefully, and tweak the roster( either resign Gordon or trade Kirk for a low post option). And tell TC it is time to come home to DePaul, and reestablish the public league pipeline.
