Here's the hard truth: if Jonny Flynn hadn't been a high draft choice, but instead was a waiver wire pickup like Gaines, he, too, would be released.

It is going to be interesting to see how Kahn handles the fact that he really blew it on the Flynn draft. I'm not saying this to gloat -- who knew? But this is a Randy Foye special -- a good person who doesn't have the skills to play the position for which he was drafted.

It is incredibly difficult for people in any business who are responsible for personnel decisions to admit their errors. They believed what they did, want to give it enough time so that they don't compound their mistake with too quick a hook, and yet are resistant to cutting and running when the mistake finally reveals itself.

Right now we're in the "he's still not 100%," "It's only his second year," kind of denial.
Maybe that's fair. But from here, Jonny Flynn looks like nothing more than a high buck Marcus Banks. Sorry David, it really, really looks like you got this one wrong. And I say that as someone who likes and respects the job you're doing.

I hate to admit it, but I think "The Hard Truth" may be right. I'm not ready to dump Flynn yet, but he needs to turn it around soon or I will lose my patience with him. He goes on these dribbling excursions (reminds me of Wally Szerbiack) and gets himself in trouble. He needs to be a point guard for this team - not a scorer. A few of his mad dashes into the tall trees under the basket have ended in disaster with him losing the basketball. He seems to have regressed over the summer.

The infamous Timeout call: People neet to shut up about that. Every coach in the league is going to call that time out. YOu do it to set up your play and advance the ball. What if Wes couldn't handle the pass? What if he missed the layup? This was a d***ed if you do and d**ed if you don't situation and water under the bridge. I was much more upset by Ridnour's obvious travel. What was he thinking???
