Wow. Dwight Howard gave us another glimpse of the greatness the lies ahead for him in the NBA, if he stays healthy. I thought he was on his way to his first 50-point game. Maybe that'll come tonight against the Celts. Dwight also is capable of many triple doubles in his career once he figures out that when a defense collapses on him he can dish off to teammates with wide-open looks.
Since we've been so brutal with Jameer on this forum, it's only fair to give him props for managing an intelligent game. He didn't force the issue trying to make things happen, which usually results in TOs. Instead, did a good job of keeping his teammates involved and in the flow. Jameer, you played like a PG for a change. Keep it up.

for jameer he should have better games earlier instead of waiting to almost the end of the season. i hope the magic make a smart decision and no by heart like they always do.

Of course with a Pacers' loss and Magic's win we are in the play-offs by tomorrow. But I rather have Pacers beat Nets because then by winning out the remaining two games while Nets would probably lose at Bulls, we will grab the 7th spot. There is the danger of us losing the next two while Pacers winning their last two which would push us out of the play-offs, but I cannot imagine Magic losing to Wizards, thus we should do no worse than 8th spot in that scenario, even if we lose to Heat at home.

Magic played great. They led throughout the game and never looked back. Grats to Howard for scoring career high 35 pts.

Since Washington already clinched a playoff spot, I'm hoping they would rest their top players for the playoffs so Magic will have a better shot on winning when they play them.

wow , if Dwight could be like that in the post season , i think we will be able to give Detroit a real hard time , in my openion detroit is everything but big on the inside , they let big ben go , so we should punish them for it with both dwight and darko , we just need to do a better job on the parameter

Agreed, but if he has finally had that moment where a light bulb has gone on in his head, and he has realised what his role is in helping the Magic win, I'm not going to worry too much about his past inconsistency. If he carries over his intelligent, controlled play from the last five or six games into the post season (assuming we get there), and beyond into next season, it could be a significant step in the growth of the Magic as a team.

As for last night's game as a whole - again (like Memphis and Milwaukee) the Magic have managed to beat a team they are SUPPOSED to beat, instead of playing down to the level of the opposition. Don't know why it has taken so long, but lets hope it continues. Nice to see the assists really outnumber the turnovers. Let's see if they can keep it up and take some momentum into the playoffs.

It was great to see the Magic play a tough physical game and wear down the other team. And Grant Hill getting into it and messing it up with someone to the tune of a technical foul! Nobody backed off anybody. If they play like that with any consistency they will finally belong in the NBA. The team theme should be "FIGHT MAGIC" rather than "GO MAGIC". Let the league know you're alive and are tired of being pushed around. Detroit isn't that much better skill wise, they're just tougher both mentally and physically. So go and beat up Boston and start from the opening tip>

It really was a great victory for the magics, but lets face it, due to many factors in the season, players and coaching inconsistancy they will face the pistons. I believe that this will be a great learning experience for this team if they really take it in that way. Also I believe that BH should give confidence to his bench, to taste the feeling of the playoff experience. Be risky, try new combinations, they are profesional players, they know about adjustments. So enjoy the experiece and look foward.

This was a great game last night! When the players tighten up there game and stop making errors - make their shots, their free throws and stop turning the ball over - great things happen!!! I hope they play just as hard the next 3 games and into the playoffs! GO MAGIC!!!

Making the playoffs is great and all, but I actually think this will have an adverse effect on us. By making the playoffs the organization will retain Coach Hill, and we all know Hill is not the man for the job. There hasn't been any improvement from last year to this year. Last year we made a late season run for the eight seed after all the player movement. That was great last year, but this year we at basically at the same spot. Granted, this time we did get the eigth seed, but that's no improvement. At this pace, we will get the 7th seed next year. The Magic have not improved as a team and Hill is to blame for that. He lineups and rotations make no sense. He doesn't know how to develope young talent. His "Pound the ball in paint" offense is so predictable. He can't motivate our players. I just think making the playoffs will hurt us more in the long run. The organization has already made many wrong personel decisions, lets hope that this off season we can make some good ones by firing Hill, and bringing a Coach like Rick Adelman, Larry Browm, etc.

Their top two players have already been resting for quite some time now. Arenas and Butler are both sidelined with injuries for the rest of the season. They still have Jamison, but without Butler and Arenas the magic should be able to role over them as easy as they roled over the bucks and sixers. With this magic team though you never know what to expect.

Matt - but I cannot imagine the Magic losing to Wizards - If we have learned anything about the Magic this season, it is that they have played pitifully against the teams they should have handled readily.

Let us get into the playoff, play the best (Detroit) and play hard.
