Jackson is a dam fool ! His coaching is the problem ,not playing bynum during the end of games is making the Lakers look weak. Jackson wil be out coach again by any other coach in the NBA
if they(Lakers) reach the playoff.

Jackson keep thinking that weak ass LO and PG can beat Boston.....Last game in Boston what was the score.

I am a Laker fan since 1999 and I am still proud of LAKERS. However, this team is the most inconsistant team in the league in my opinion, Which puts me in dout that they will win championship this year. Inconsistant team never win champs. So here is my precription to be a grat team that will win champs: 1) DEFENCE, DEFENCE, DEFENCE 2) Asume each game as your last one whether you play great team or poor team 3) Some of the player are lazy, they must and should prove or else trade them like Radmanovich 4) Teach Vujacic to slow down in shot selection to be effective 5) They must prove that they can win great teams like Celtic without their MVP because great team know if they shout down Kobe they will win this team. Any thing less than champ is unacceptable Lakers this year I will be very much disappointed.

Best wish,

List to me my true Lakers fans the Lakers are going to be OK The Lakers love a challenge like a team like Boston or Cleveland they have all ways played down to the teams that they play this is not new for the Lakers team last year they just can't beat bad teams that was under .500, the Lakers over look bad team and win the game before they play it, The good new is that the Lakers are not lossing all the games that they has played bad teams so far now thats new. The Lakers don't have a killing mine set on the floor they have the play the game and lets see the challenge that the team have for us mine set, So put a over .500 ball club on the floor and you would see the Lakers team that started the season......

I think the lakers go as Kobe goes. To me, it seems like Kobe just does not have his shooting touch. maybe he should've had the operation on his finger. Whatever the case is, the Lakers don't have that swagger because other teams don't fear them, and they are not making teams fear them. until Kobe gets his touch back, they will not be considered as great.

I'm starting to like your column, Steve! Give us some more...
This early, the Lakers are showing a 'chink in the armor' and i'm assuming - the management is addressing this stuff silently in the background(?). Best time to change personnel is now - add one player of the 'all-star' caliber for two sub-par players. I'd like to see the Lakers 'whip-up' the Kings tonight to avenge their humiliating loss a couple of days ago!

I have been a lakers fan all my life and this team is one of the worst i have ever seen play defense. Presently Lakers cannot beat the Cavs and Boston with that lay-up and wide open shots drill defense they play. This team have a serious problem and something needs to be done otherwise sorry to say no championship for us die hard fans. It is really hard to admit that other teams are better than hours but i have to say it the Cavs and Boston and who known which other teams are really better than us.

Man our team Lakers sucks so much now that its hard to look at their games. I think that they should watch some videos of the Cavs and Celts play suffocating defense and learn something.

The truth of the matter is that LA does not have the personnel to play great consistent D. Rad is soft, Pau is soft and Bynum is not ready and is too young. Andd please stop with the LO and Pippen comparison. It amazes me how people foget that Pippen was one of the 50 greatest players OF ALL TIME yet MJ gets all the credit. Has LO even made an all star team? He's solid but they need someone who is more rugged at the 3 and is more of a defender and scorer( Gerald Wallace). And they need for Kobe to go back to scoring and not being a point guard. Those guys need to get their own game going and he needs to stop shooting 6 shots in 1st quarter 0 in second 3 in 3rd . He's getting out of rhythm.

Are you people all insane? The Lakers are doing just fine. You are all aware that the record is 17-3, right? 17-3, yet you're all bitching about them as if they were 3-17. You guys should be ashamed. The poor Clipper, Grizzlies, and T-Wolves fans who read this article are going to think that you're all a bunch of stuck-up elitist whiners... and rightly so. The Lakers are a great team. They've got a great coach, great leaders, and a great bench. Sure, they've still got some work to do, but we have every reason to believe that they will continue to grow and improve, and, most importantly, WIN. And you're all nuts if you truly believe that the Cavs are better than the Lakers. Give me a break.

Certainly, they looked like that team to start the season. When they broke out 7-0, holding every team to less than 100 points, winning by an average of 18 points a pop - then they became the old Lakers, again. The just don't have the right stuff, just yet. Sorry to brake any hopes out there, but the Lakers of today are nothing compared to the Showtime Lakers of the Magic/ Jabbar era. At least, when they had Shaq - they were instant contenders - not anymore - just a bunch of players who think they can compete..... just look at the way they play last night - what a disaster if the Suns just had a little more ummmm, they would have ben embarassed for the rest of the season.

This team has mental problems. Starting from the coaching staff to the leaders of the team. The coaching staff don't emphasize defense. Kobe is one of the worst in defense right now and Fisher is incapable of defending. The Lakers team has great athletes but it looks like it will be a waste of the season given their attitude and approach to defense.

Besides, players are now bitching about playing time. Does Phil Jackson have control of the team any more?

I'm a die hard Laker fan and I love our team, and as much as I want to keep believing that we will beat Boston this year, deep inside i fear that we wont.
The 3 critical things that we need to beat Boston is Kobe being Kobe, the solid play of our bench and most importantly tougher defense.

Well, Kobe just doesn't seem like the old Kobe anymore (I have Kobe posters on my wall so don't call me a hater) I can't figure out what's wrong with him but lets just hope its a temporary slump
We all know what the bench mob can do but they been mediocre so far
And the defense has just been horrible after that
7-0 start

I'm a lakers fan since the majic and karrem time,,then after they lost to mj bulls...i lost my attention to watch this team..then came shaq and kobe plus phil jackson i thought they can win 4th title but they underestimate the piston even thought they can beat this piston team the same thing happen last nba finals they allowed this celtics to win so garnett, pierce and allen can taste a championship trophy that they(garnett, pierce, allen)can not done when they in minnesotta, seatlle and pierce(boston) i can't understand why this lakers team is not focus every game they played they must give 110 % evey game even they facing good teams or below to.500 marks...so if this lakers want to dominates or avenges the lost to celtics they must bring their defense..and make some good trades bring some good pointguard who can dish some assist and penetrate inside like my idol john stockton and trade this lazzy odom, walton even vujacic and radmanovic because odom not accept his role as a sixthman in this team sometimes he do well but many times he can't contribute ...and the last thing kobe pls! take a good shot and make some good decission inside the court like mj and stockton if you want to in thier category and be best or the best bring the old intensity that i see you in the past...go lakers you can do it.....

pls! to all celtics fan i respect your belief and we can't please everybody.celtics win the title but face the truth they win because of poor defense of the lakers and they shotdown kobe.. and lets face the fact that this is the first time this guys(kg,pp,ra)win title they can't do this in the past but kobe have 3 rings although they give the credit to this diesel shaq..like they do to mj all the praise is for him but scottie not give a credit..and one more thing this celtics is beattable team if some team put thier defense in facing celtics they can beat them(celtics)

Unfortunately Boston will win again. If the Lakers want to win the title this year. They will have to package a trade of Chris Mihm, Luke Walton, V. Radmoinovich and a draft pick for someone like Okafor or boozer. They need a stonger player on the boards and defense. Someone with an attitude and backbone. Waltons a wimp Radmonovich is a flake and mihm is expendable. I'm sure there's a team that wants some depth and needs some salary to dump.
