there are lots of problems with the knicks, but their most obvious one is thomas. i mean this guy does everything wrong and he's still there. the lawsuit this summer should have been it, it wasn't like you could be forgiving and say 'well sure he's a horrible man but he wins' or 'he brought in all-star players' or 'he's made trades that have put the knicks in a position to win'. he hasn't done anything to deserve this blind faith that dolan has put on him. what is dolan waiting for? does isiah have to do to get fired? kill a baby? join al-qaeda? what!?!

ritz you speak with such eloquence, such bravado. how brave of you to say things that no one dares speak. lawrenceville, georgia has a hero and a scholar in you. the fast pace life of new york has us moving at such pace that we cannot see the simple truth that your southern wisdom has revealed. bravo ritz! bravo!

"You get tired of being the butt of everybody's jokes," said Eddy Curry,

If you are so tired Eddy, why don't you punish everyone that tries to guard you in the paint? why don't you grab every rebound in your area? why don't you move your feet and dare people to score in the lane?

To have the old great Knicks take shots just shows that no one has any regards for this current regime.
not so bad

Please, unless you are already under a long-term deal, going to the Knicks is the best thing that can happen to a player. First of all - the best part - you will get a fat contract that far exceeds market value. See Jerome James, Eddy Curry, Jamal Jeffries (under Thomas), and Eisley, Ward, Childs, Houston, Weatherspoon, and so much more (under Layden). Second, there is no accountability from the owner, GM or coach. Dolan only cares if you show him up (Sprewell) or speak out against the team or organization. Playing lousy and uninspired never offends him. In fact, if you dog it - the way players did under Larry Brown - the coach will become frustrated and lash out to the media (another Dolan no-no). Then, you go to Dolan/Thomas and collectively demand the coach's dismissal. See ya, coach. And the best part about this is that your GM is also the coach, so no matter how badly you perform, the coach (Thomas) can't put the hammer down, lest Dolan gets the impression that things aren't peachy. Third, the arena is always sold out, reassuring the owner that all is well, and, once again, that pesky accountability thing can be ignored. Fourth, it's New York City, where any NBA player has access to the greatest buffet of off-the-court "activities". It's clear that under Dolan, being a Knick means being a member of the most exclusive country club in existence - not too many players have a problem with that.
