What I don't understand is why the media has crowned Mark Jaskson as the coach the knicks should have hired? Why? What has Mark Jackson done? Who has he coached? He is not even a knick ledgend! If any knick should have the job it should be Patrick Ewing! He is a real knick or John Starks! Not Mark Jackson. When did Mark ever become such a defensive guru? Not from his playing days, that's why he was traded from the knicks. If my memory is correct the pressure of new york got to him. He never lived up to his rookie of the year award and was promptly shipped out. But now the guy works in the media and for some reason he should be the top coach? Sounds strange to me. Mike Dantoni *my homie" is the perfect coach and the best coach the knicks could have gotten. Now when the knicks are cleaning their roster (everyone must go) you will build your team around guys that fit his system. Just like what happend to the Portland trailblazers. When Nate McMillan got rid of all the guys who wouldn't fit his system and now they have a good team. It will take time but it can be done. But at least now there is hope and direction and that's what has been missing from the knicks for 7 years.

I remember going to the garden at a time when Mark Jakson was playing the point, well into his career and all you heard was boos everytime he was on the floor. NY'rs in droves now prefer him over D'antoni, why?, because
Mark subsequently went on to help the Pacers into the finals and he "showed" those jackass's. Mark will
be a good coach, Mike is one already, lets hope we don't boo him out of here before he has a chance to make things work.

I agree that Jax will be a good coach. This situation may have been a blessing in disguise for him. Let him learn the ropes a little bit and not get roasted in the NY fire. With no experience, it would not be easy to coach this team, especially if don't have thick skin (this is a concern with D'Antoni too). It could ruin his career if Jax jumps into this too soon. He's a young guy and the Knicks job will be here for him someday when he is ready,

I can't understand why everyone thinks that Mark Jackson would be a better coach than D'Antoni. Just because he is a good broadcaster doesn't mean he will be a good coach - look at Quinn Buckner - he set the Mavs back almost as bad as Isaih with the Knicks. If anything, Mark Jackson as a player shows pretty good evidence that he won't be a good coach - he didn't play defense, he was out of shape, and he was a showboat - always showing up the other team (remember the helicopter and his other dances after making a play?). If the team played like Jackson (out of shape, no defense, and conceded), the team would stink. Where is all of this Mark Jackson sentiment coming from? You would think he had a resume like Phil Jackson.
